The suite was very spacious, with a separate kitchen/dining area and a large bedroom. The whole place was also very clean and well-maintained. The breakfast was very good and the lady serving us very helpful and accommodating. The location was also very convenient.
The bedroom in particular was very warm, as there was no air-conditioning and we visited during the recent heatwave. We understand it is a listed building so no such facility can be installed. The entrance to the car park was exceptionally narrow.
Good place for both centre of town and easy access to move around Suffolk. All very easy and comfortable. Good breakfast. Easy parking. All round excellent.
Breakfast - excellent. Good choice and very flexible in delivery.
Staff - very helpful
Facilities - good
Lounge area - comfortable and a real bonus
Lovely place to stay staff unbelievable will definitely be going back there lovely location great value for money
Love The Old building love the beams beautiful place really enjoyed ourselves
This is an old building, full of character and a bit quirky. A refreshing change to the usual chain hotels. Everything was very clean and well kept, and the staff were very friendly. Possibly the best breakfast we have ever had in a hotel, everything freshly prepared with quality, local, products. A bonus was Lowestoft kippers on the menu. We would stay there again.
Nothing.
Well equipped ,
Breakfast
Breakfast was good, shower was good, location was good for town centre. Two fans helped in the hot stay.
During the hot weather, lack of air circulation as Windows opened onto the noisy main road.
Breakfast and staff very good
Very old fashioned
Location and the history
The premises are centrally located. Beautiful old buildings.
We were allocated the top floor (room 5) and it was hotter than hot. Even though provided with a fan, we lay roasting in bed both nights. On the first night, other rooms were available on the floor below.
Lovely spacious apartment with the additional luxury of a hotel breakfast. Bedroom, kitchen diner and bathroom. The kitchen was basic but well stocked and the hotel also offered a guest kitchen for our use, which I would definitely have used if we had stayed more than 2 days.
Bury St Edmonds was delightful.
It was on a busy road which was a little noisy with the windows open, however, they provided several fans so despite the heat, we were able to close the window overnight.
The bathroom was a little dated but a good size and everything worked.
A lovely room with comfy bed and good shower, and an excellent breakfast. Very friendly, helpful owner. It was very hot and 3 fans were provided which was much appreciated! Close enough to walk into centre of Bury St Edmunds.
All good.
Lovely partly Tudor property with some nice original features. Very helpful and friendly staff. Room a good size. Breakfast excellent with various cooked and uncooked choices. Parking on site. Kettle in the room. An ultra-quiet fan was also in the room which was useful due to the high temperature. Easy walk via the graveyard into the town centre.
Note it is quite a narrow entrance to the car park.
Hotel in gezellig stadje. Ruime kamer, goed ontbijt, vriendelijk personeel.
This is a period property, a homey little medieval hotel with open posts and beams in our room. The bright bathroom had a modern walk- in shower. There’s a charming visitors’ lounge, and an excellent breakfast.
