My husband and I stayed at the Waldorf this week for business meetings. The room was wonderful, the hotel is beautiful and they staff is truly top notch. Jered at the bar remembered our names day after day. Brian out front is such a kind converser and he also remembers names. I think these are very important touches to make guests feel very welcome!
My husband and I stayed at the Waldorf Astoria for the Cherry Blossom 10 mile run. We were chatting with Erin about the run while she checked us into our room and she offered to send up some immunity shots help us prepare. This was such a thoughtful and kind gesture that went a long way. She also sent us a fruit plate as we were talking about how bananas help prevent muscle cramping. Not only did we feel more welcome to the city, it showed that she cared about us not only as guests, but as individuals. It was an incredible and personable experience that made our trip, his run and our time in DC fantastic. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you Waldorf and Erin!
We had the most wonderful family trip to Washington, DC, and our stay at the Waldorf Astoria truly made it unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. We were generously upgraded to a beautiful suite, which was perfect for our family and made our stay feel extra special. The hotel itself is stunning and impeccably maintained. Every detail feels thoughtful and luxurious without being overdone. What truly set this experience apart was the concierge team. They were outstanding. From securing hard-to-get restaurant reservations to helping us plan museum visits and tickets, they made everything seamless and stress-free.
The location is unbeatable. We were a few blocks from the White House and within easy walking distance to the museums, which made exploring the city incredibly convenient for our family. We left feeling so grateful for such a memorable experience and cannot wait to return.
I had read the reviews on TripAdvisor and was looking forward to my stay at the Waldorf Astoria. This hotel is missing the wow. Our hotel room was nice, but there was nothing that made it feel special. We received a $50 credit per night and tried to use it for breakfast. We ate ate the Peacock Allry the first 2 mornings , but ate elsewhere the other 3 days we were in DC. We tried the desserts one night. How can you mess up a dessert? This could be a great hotel, but it’s definitely is missing something.
Our visit to the DC Waldorf Astoria was magical from the moment they opened our car door. Every single staff member made a significant effort to get to know us and find ways to make our stay memorable. Within seconds, the valet staff had told front reception that we were celebrating our anniversary. And the next thing we knew, a gentleman was at door with a bottle of champagne and two beautiful desserts. Aleksander was a delight to encounter every day. I’d go back just to see him again. And the personal Concierge service did an amazing job of putting together a picnic lunch for us to enjoy underneath the cherry blossoms. We’re hoping to make it an annual event!
Such a beautiful hotel. Mahi was such a gem! her hospitality was truly top-tier. It’s rare to come across someone so genuine and welcoming. She really made the experience amazing and was I had a great experience overall.
I have traveled the world but Waldorf Astoria DC is one my very favorites. From the moment arrive they make me feel like I home
Ishmeal waiter in Peacock Alley has been serving me since when it was a Trump hotel he is a great waiter.
I also want you to Danish the doorman is wonderful he remembered me from previous stays and is always so helpful.
Gulcin front desk manger I can't say enough good things about her she is wonderful and is the very best!
The caviar/champagne event was not only delicious but informative
Also Linda a server at Bazaar I have had her as a server 3 different times and she is truly one of the best servers I have ever had
Wonderful experience this past weekend at the Waldorf Astoria in Washington DC. It was our 28th anniversary and the hotel staff went out of their way to ensure that we had a special weekend. Thank you very much for the special attention, and we will look forward to our next visit!
Beautiful Hotel.
Staff was incredible especially Danish.
DC
The worst "luxury" hotel stay I've ever had.
Management here should be ashamed of themselves. I checked in and I was put into a room that had an adjoining door to another room. The kids in that room-with a paper thin door-were crying, shouting, and trying to open the adjoining door between the two rooms. Not once did the parents correct them. After several hours of this I asked if we could switch rooms. I was moved into a "quiet" room. Next to a crowded, loud party. All night.
Singing, screaming, slamming doors, running around the hallway. Trash was thrown all over the hallway the next morning. I stepped over greasy pizza boxes when I left for breakfast. Housekeeping was carting out trays of empty liquor bottles and glasses.
I addressed this with the front desk. They sent a slice of cake to my room. A rep called me and told me that their security team had been called the evening before and they had to "talk to the guests in the next room because they were making other guests uncomfortable". I had not called them, so multiple guests had complained about these people. The hotel was very concerned about the loud guests' confidentiality, stating they "are regulars and we had no reason to think there would be multiple people in that room". I was promised a call from
management which never came. I requested that the one sleepless night be refunded, yet have received zero response. A piece of cake was their offer of apology. As well as telling me I should be happy that the loud guests checked out of the hotel before I did. Unreal.
This place is truly exceptional. It’s our favorite hotel in DC, and we stay here every time we’re in town.
A special thank you to Danish for always remembering our names and making everyone feel so welcome upon arrival.
Worst hotel ever. Loud parties. Garbage in the hallways. Called the front desk, no one picks up the phone. Better off staying in the corridors of union station.
Truly an excellent stay. This is out second time at this waldorf location and it never disappoints. Luxurious bathroom and luxurious bed! Not only are the rooms magnificent, the concierge team is equally as wonderful. We stayed here for my husband’s bday and they made him feel so special! They surprised him with a bottle of champagne and delicious cherry blossom themed cake! Roman was fantastic and was so responsive!
I do want to compare this hotel to St Regis DC. We stayed there last week, for the first time, for my daughter’s birthday. We’ve stayed in St Regis before, so figured the DC location would be great. We were so wrong!! The rooms at St Regis were old, outdated, and small. The service was below what you expect from a 5 star hotel and was more akin to a Marriott or Hilton. The bedding was terrible. Looking back, given our previous stay with Waldorf, we should have just booked Waldorf instead! So if you find yourself stuck between the two—— CHOOSE WALDORF!!
I am also a diamond member with Hilton and platinum with Marriott. They treated us with a beautiful upgrade at Waldorf without asking!! They recognized our loyalty here, which was not done at St Regis.
The only downside, which is out of the hotel’s control was the banging sound outside. I recommend getting the corner room or the room facing the street (not the backside) as we did not have this issue previously.
Thank you Roman and the staff for really going out of your way to make my husband feel special!!!!
Great Ambience, great experience, staff is so high touch front desk Elizabeth, Antony is spectacular as always. All the staff is remarkable only thing is the carpets are a little outdated. The spa is also great.
Always a great experience. 5th spring break we've done in DC and at this hotel. Doormen are always top notch. Anteneh was a delightful conversationalist and took care of us. My son received a Waldorf Cherry blossom/owl pin a few years ago that he wears on his blazer every year and Anteneh recognized it 😁 We look forward to next years Spring Break!
I loved the entire stay! Just a gorgeous hotel.
Also please stop by and see Mahi at the suit shop! She was beyond helpful! She is so sweet I can’t wait to see her again! Thank Mahi! Keep being you!
Odette T Shiela is top notch housekeeper who is courteous with good attention to detail. Made us feel at home and provided excellent service.
