Freshly cooked breakfast. Staff were very helpful. Very good value for money
Property is a little dated and WiFi was poor
Walking distance to town. Food was good.
Beds weren't comfortable. Wasn't very clean.
Food was nice.
Price. Too expensive. Staff were just about ok.
Fabulous location. Friendly staff. Excellent service.
Dusty bedroom
Food was delicious.. Staff were lovely
Bathrooms were so dirty. They really need an upgrade. Scum on pedestals, & bath. living spiders in lights in bathroom roof..
Even when cleaned they were still dirty
Beautiful setting by the river Shannon and within walking distance to the towns of Kilaloe and Ballina (which are connected by pedestrian bridge).
The cooked breakfast was particularly good, and the service was swift and courteous. The quality of the bar/ restaurant food was of a good standard and competitively priced.
We particularly enjoyed dropping into the "Ponte Vecchio" café in Kilaloe for coffee and cake in the afternoon, or pizza and glass of wine in the evening!
The hotel reception staff were not particularly friendly or professional. Each time we passed through reception they appeared too busy to acknowledge us. Upon checking in we were not given times for breakfast, or restaurant closing times. We had to enquire about these.
Checking out, I was asked as to whether everything had been ok? But, once again the receptionist seemed too busy to wait to hear an answer, or indeed wish us a safe onward journey as is usually the custom in these situations.
We were also unaware that the spa was closed Monday - Wednesday, and the days it was open the "thermal suite" (an extra charge of €15 per person) was completely booked out, although the hotel only appeared to be half-full.
As a National Tour Guide who has stayed in many hotels throughout Ireland, I would definitely not rate this hotel as 4 star.
Lovely friendly staff. Very good breakfast and great food in the restaurant in the evening. Beds were comfortable and rooms were clean. Nice views and the location was good.
Rooms were a little dated and in need of a makeover .
Excellent staff.
The place was very welcome, the facilities were maintained impeccably.
The restaurant was definitely the highlight.
Seems a little bit behind technology with usual door and key lock.
A lift from the basement floor to the reception would have been much beneficial.
Nice traditional - Irish-style hotel.
The irish breakfast was good.
The Sauna wasn't very hot. When the sauna seemed to be off at all, during the time, the team offered us free drinks, which was a nice gesture.
An extra hourly charge for this sauna seemed not really appropriate, since other hotels offer this for free.
Nevertheless, the sauna could be hotter than 60 degrees.
Comfortable and spacious room. Breakfast was lovely. Friendly staff.
The spa was underwhelming, just a sauna and salt room, and definitely not worth the €15 per person cost.
A great place to stay!
