Staff very welcoming and accommodating. Room needed to be aired out. Pillow or something needed to be washed or replaced.... room smelled like a clothes rack of unwashed second hand clothing found on an op-shop. Price was very good and met my needs

The character of a very old fashion Hotel. Was simply a bed for the night.

Character-filled hotel over 100 years old, but although i didnt go to the bar, i wasn't impressed that it had gambling machines.

Perfectly clean and welcoming, but skeleton staff. Served our purpose well, somewhere to sleep comfortably.

No information given re availability of breakfast or other meals, despite being attached to a bar/restaurant. Online it says kettle/ coffee/tea making available in rooms but this was not the case.

Great room and central to town. Very clean and a good pub stay experience on our way back to airport

Website needs to be updated. There is no restaurant existing now. A few choices of counter tea only in bar area.

Bed was comfortable and shared bathroom was clean. No tv in the room and no jug and toaster. There was a kitchenette down the hall for making tea and toast. Staff were friendly and helpful

Disappointing stay. Sheets unironed. Had to ask for more tea/coffee/milk - some of which was sour - and towels. Restaurant was closed and apparently will be for some time. No aircon. Only free view tv. Cars could be locked up but had to be in before 9pm and not want to leave before 8am

It was good for what it was. The man at the desk was super helpful and told us if he needed anything to not be afraid to ask them. The room and especially the beds were clean. Had no issues with the communal bathroom and showers. If you have trouble going up a flight of stairs, this place isn’t for you.

overall is ok unless no air con. Nearby is many restaurants and i have delicious meal. Will stay there again if i visit here again

Best beds we experienced in nz. Stayed at 17 places. Friendly staff and great food. Highly recommended for a hotel. Also well priced

There was a band that wasn’t advertised on the booking site which was on the floor below our room and meant we couldn’t sleep until the band finished at 11.30pm. The fan didn’t go and we couldn’t open the window for fresh air due to the noise from the smoking area which was just below the bedroom. The alarm went off twice during the night.

The Hotel is a bit old and run down, but was perfectly adequate for my one night stay.The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, however the fittings were basic and the privacy (due to big open windows) was not ideal.

Great place for a last minute stop in Thames. Clean and comfortable, right in the historic centre.

The hotel is well past it's glory days but my room was clean and tidy and the bed very comfortable. If you decide to stay on a Friday night, a loud live band plays underneath you until midnight.

Very old hotel with lots of personality .Great potential but sadly leg down by cleanliness. Indian restaurant downstairs has excellent food but again a bit grubby with no attention to detail.

Extra bed wasn’t put in room even though we called them over a week before our stay. Booked an Ensuite, freezing cold shower. Went down to the reception twice, but the problem was not fixed. Would not stay there again. Not worth the money they charge.
