Best Western Hotelio Montpellier Sud

The staff on our arrival were extremely grumpy and unhelpful; they seemed resentful to be there. The location is an urban desert, right under a road bridge. This isolation was further enhanced by the announcements that the restaurant closed on Sundays. The room was extremely small, and poorly equipped (only one towel per person - no hand towels). Someone tried to get into our room at 01:30 in the morning - quite disturbing; again the staff were not in the slightest interested. Finally they charge you a 150 euro “security” fee on your credit card which will be reimbursed if you do no damage - apparently there has been damage in the past. My advice - don’t stay here; there are much better options elsewhere.

Très bien comme d’habitude, je vais toujours dans cette établissement lorsque je suis sur Montpellier.

Séjour de 3 jours . Emplacement non central .

Il faudrait penser à changer les serviettes de bains qui sont grises et très usées .

We booked this hotel and neither Booking.com or Best Western told us they would be charging us a €230 "damage deposit" on arrival and not pay it back for "hopefully no more than 7 days after checkout and once the room has been checked for damage". Only the next day did I receive an email telling me this. Shocking practice. I went back through Booking.com and looked through every detail offered by the hotel regarding payments and related policies; nowhere was this mentioned! Hotels with these practices need to be punished. I cancelled.

The room was unfortunately dirty, so many things left - especially in the bathroom - which you do not want to see.

Hôtel avec une Bonne situation géographique, lieu calme , piscine au top mais manque de transat car en période d’été il y’a pas mal de monde

L’hôtel correspondait tout à fait à la description.
La seule difficulté c’est qu’il est trop isolé sans accès piéton sécurisé proche des transports en commun ou des accès à la ville.

Séjour court sur le retour des vacances avec ma famille. C'était un assez bon séjour. L'équipe était agréable.

Air conditioning is locked out and will only go down to 25 degrees not any cooler. While I was there it was extremely hot outside and the lack of proper ac made my stay unbearable. Excuse given by staff is that it was the law and the hotel could not legally lower the temperature. Strangely other hotels in France somehow do have lower temperatures. I stayed here in 2024 and 2025 but will not be coming back as it’s impossible to sleep. I have a heart condition and high blood pressure and the time in this hotel is not safe for my health. You have been warned!

I was at fault for not properly doing my research! The hotel was miles from anywhere, albeit in idyllic countryside. The hotel quite rightly boasted of a good restaurant on its website, but failed to mention that that restaurant was not open at all at lunchtimes, and only open 4 days a week in the evenings. (3 days a week during my visit, due to a Bank Holiday.). For an internationally-recognized brand (Best Western) to have a 3 star hotel, where the restaurant is only open for 3 or 4 days a week is incredible and unacceptable, given that the days on which it was closed are arguably the busiest days of the week, namely Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (and Monday Bank Holiday). If you do not have a car, there is nowhere else to eat within (2 hours') walking distance. The staff were excellent and did their level best to help me out.
