It was convenient to everything
It was under renovation and we weren’t notified ahead of time

i like the location, it’s next to a new mall, a lot of fastfood chains, restaurants and shops. Staff are friendly, breakfast is good they even have breakfast to go, and even allowed us to bring breakfast food in our room. They have ice maker, water dispenser and free flowing coffee, tea and hot chocolate which is open 24/7. Hotel is new, kids enjoyed the pool, Rooms are big enough for a family of 4, and of course the free parking! Nothing beats that compared to waikiki where you have to pay roughly $45/night!
Some areas have leak in the ceiling, but they’re fixing it.

I am beyond disappointed with my experience at Hampton Inn & Suites Oahu/Kapolei. After a long and exhausting travel day, I was turned away because of their pet policy, despite trying to explain my situation respectfully and professionally.
What made this experience far worse was the way staff handled the interaction. I suffer from PTSD, and instead of treating me with compassion or dignity, I was subjected to intrusive personal questioning that felt completely inappropriate and humiliating. Rather than focusing on customer service or trying to help find a solution, the experience quickly became cold, dismissive, and uncomfortable.
Hospitality is supposed to mean treating people with basic respect, especially when someone is clearly stressed, displaced, and trying to navigate a difficult situation. Instead, I felt judged, interrogated, and completely unsupported.
I understand hotels can have policies, but policies do not excuse poor treatment of human beings. There is a respectful way to communicate with guests, and unfortunately this hotel failed badly in that regard.
For anyone traveling with pets, service-related needs, or hidden disabilities, I would strongly recommend thinking twice before booking here. Hawaii is built on the spirit of aloha, but sadly I experienced none of it at this property.
Breakfast and location were pretty good. My husband loves that he can make his own waffles 🧇.
The hotel is around of Mall and a supermarket.
We request housekeeping every day and was pretty good.
The best was that the parking and Breakfast was free , this is a plus .
From the begging we have problems with the room .
It was a very bad odor which I wasn't sure where is coming from, I thought might be the floor.
The next day they wash and dry the carpet, but soon as i increased the ac a little bit, the smell was back .
Taking with Teeana , we concluded that it the ac , so in the fourth day she sent someone to clean the ac . Yay 🎊 🎈 🎉 problem solved .
They offered us another room, but we didn't want to move .

FREE INCLUDED BREAKFAST ISN'T JUST A CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST. THERE ARE EGGS AND SAUSAGE, POTATOES, WAFFLES, AND MORE.
THE HOTEL WAS UNDER RENOVATIONS, BUT I COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND THAT THEY ARE TRYING TO MAINTAIN A CERTAIN LEVEL OF DECOR.
Right at the mall for shopping
Everyone we interacted with was wonderful and friendly.
Gnats. Why are they everywhere in the hotel. When we were outside there were far fewer gnats.
