Nice area. The Expedia listing did not specify the mandatory $150 cleaning fee.
Kitchen was the most impressive room in the condo
Large kitchen that we all could cook in as a family was the highlight of this property.
We booked this condo for 2 nights through Expedia, located in Oyhut Bay Seaside Resort, and managed by Golderner. We drove 2.5 hours to get there. Upon entering, we found a terrible smell, black mold, and dirty, stained carpet in the room. We took photos and called the management company. The representative was rude and only offered to send a cleaner. I explained black mold can’t just be cleaned away, but the cleaner came, agreed it was mold, and left without doing anything.
Later, the management company claimed it was “dust.” If that were true, why wasn’t it cleaned before our arrival? Dust doesn’t cause that smell or appear on ceilings. We requested a full refund, which was denied. Expedia got involved, but the management company refused, hiding behind their cancellation policy.
Expedia’s supervisor offered a $300 refund, which I declined—it’s unacceptable when we couldn’t stay in a mold-infested unit with our 2-year-old. We were told someone would follow up but never heard back.
When we called to confirm we left the keys, a woman named Julie hung up on us—completely unprofessional.
We will report this to the health inspector and pursue legal action. Terrible experience from start to finish. Do NOT book here!
WARNING. Was charged a cleaning fee and processing fee from property management company. These fees were only disclosed after a non-refundable reservation was made. Therefore, I was stuck with these fees. These fees were not included in reservation quote. Very deceptive and dishonest.
After booking through you, I paid Oyhut Bay. After paying, I received a very long contract with many do's and dont's. And I had to provide a large deposit that I was supposed to get back if the place was kept clean. My wife and I spent little time at this resort as we were visiting her family, so the place was very clean and hardly used. On the last day I noticed that the sliding door going to the patio in the back did not lock. And the patio in the back could be reached via the street. This was very frustrating.
It has now been months and we have not received the large deposit we gave the.
We will never go there again and we will never recommend this place to anyone,
The condo was spacious and had a good layout but there were many things that were not good. Carpets in dining areas VERY stained, table legs on dining loose so that the table swayed, medicine cabinet plastic liner split like someone punched it. Bathroom fan stayed on all night and couldn’t be turned off( was very loud) We were disappointed with these things but the location was nice
The back door was open and someone had been sleeping in the bed and using the bathroom. Backdoor would not latch, Had to use bar. Someone had to come over and change the bed linens and clean bathroom.
Also price on Expedia did not indicate cleaning fee ($150) which increased taxes. Expedia said price was $459.21. Actual cost was $649.15. No indication of addional reservation fees ($21) and Cleaning fees ($150)
Our only issue was when we did our initial walk through, there seem to be residue on the back of the door of the master bedroom. So we were concerned we would be held responsible. But we took photos and video footage. As well as sand on the laundry machine. Aside from that was a wonderful place to stay
The stay was great. It was comforting, relaxing and had all of the essentials to. Have a great weekend at the beach. Would recommend this resort to anyone going to the ocean
The condo has a very strong cigarette smoke smell. The carpert is dirty. The smell is overwhelming.
This property was wonderful I would have graded them excellent except there seems to be some variance with the fees. Expedia lists cleaning fee as $85 dollars but the property charges $150, so almost double what I was expecting. And there fees for cleaning are not listed anywhere on contract until surprise your bill comes!
Beware of the bait and switch! This place tacks on hidden fees which are only disclosed after you pay for the non-refundable stay. They will send you a welcome letter which requires you to sign an agreement where they hide fees. Your Expedia reservation will say paid in full but your credit card will be billed for FAR more than what was advertised. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else!
This condo was not clean at all. There was a spoon and garbage left in the couch, popcorn under the couch, a used shower cap was left in the shower and we found a food in the sheets if the master bed those sheets were stained and hair all over both beds. The after hours gentle man was very kind he tried to place us in a home but after looking at the home it too was very dirty big wolf spider, stains on the carpet, floors were dirty, kitchen counters had garbage on them and dishes in the sink. We then just requested a total refund and had to find a hotel to stay in for the night. Then found a very beautiful home through a different company to stay in for the rest of our trip.
Do not stay in the Dune Buggy 106 condo. It is nit apart of the Oyhut seaside village it is operated by another company.
Very conveniently located to two different entrances to the beach! The condo is nestled in Oyhut Bay Village that feels like it's own little community within Ocean Shores. Only regret is that we did not book sooner so we could stay longer! Look forward to staying here again!
The furniture could be more comfortable
It had a very welcoming family orientated atmosphere I didn't want to go back home it's too noisy in my neighborhood
Nice and quiet.
Expedia failed to mention the additional $150 cleaning feel this property requires and the receipt didn’t match the charge on my credit card. After multiple attempts to understand why there was an additional charge, the staff at Oyhut Bat were rude and dismissive about the situation. I understand additional fees happen, but I was treated like I was a “problem” , rather than being with treated with compassion. I was always poised and respectful when trying to resolve the conflict. Even upon checking in, I called to ask a question and Laurie said “I need your name to pull up your booking” the phone cut out so I verified her request and asked “did you say you needed my name?” And she passive aggressively said “yes? I need your full name so I can intelligently pull up your booking”
“Intelligently” pull it up is obviously passive and it’s clear that she views the staff as a burden and doesn’t truly enjoy her job or customer service.
Wonderful Oasis. My family enjoyed the property and the community. It was great and the people are friendly.
