Thee location was the best although my room didn't have any view
The boys on the front of doors. Rude very Rude. I wanted i ride but they didn't want to listen. Horrible.
Very disappointing experience at the Beauport Hotel Gloucester.
Our party of four purchased tickets for the rooftop event after the front desk told us there would be a band and dancing for $25 per person. The hotel asked us to purchase tickets online quickly because they were only 9 left. Instead, the rooftop featured a two-person acoustic duo that did not play dance music. There was virtually no atmosphere, with only four intoxicated guests in the pool area. The event was not what we were led to expect and was not worth the ticket price, we left in 20 minutes.
The night before, on August 15, we had dinner reservations for the oceanfront outdoor deck. When we arrived, we were told there would be a wait and were ultimately seated in a deck area away from the ocean. The food was average at best and nothing particularly memorable.
Overall, the experience did not meet expectations, especially considering the hotel’s pricing and reputation. The lack of willingness to address our concerns or provide a refund made the experience even more disappointing.
We travelled mid week during the 2nd week in July. We really wanted to give the Beauport the benefit of the doubt but we can not at this time. We booked Ocean View Queen room and although the view of the window was nice the room is not the advertised quality. Room 227 The TV is off to the side of the bed making it nearly impossible to view while in bed. The only chair in the room needed to be moved to access the closet each time the closet was in use. Friends had the same class room same price and did not have these deficiencies.
The administration of the pool deck/bar was also disappointing . Access was supposed to be guests only. In speaking with patrons we learned 4 were there because “front desk people let us come up we are locals.” Another guest announced I will be right back I need to go to the lobby and let my friends in.” She returned with 3 people. The result was 7 non guests seated at the pool and multiple hotel guests being turned away.
We reported this at checkout and were told management will be notified of your concerns and we heard nothing after our stay. Upon completion of the Beauport survey we cited the same concerns and again heard nothing after our response to their survey.
Regrettably this was a choice based on a relatives over the top endorsement of the Beauport. I am left to ponder “what has happened?” Has the Beauport become to busy to care?
It is a nice hotel. The location, the view, and the facilities were great. The staff was accommodating and courteous. We enjoyed our stay.
For a reasonably expensive hotel, our room was not as clean as it should have been. The shower had hair on the floor before we used it. We were on the third floor. We heard a lot of noise from above. The slider screen needed repair, and the carpet didn’t appear to be vacuumed after the first night.
Great place and outstanding staff. We travel a lot and have not been to Gloucester for years. This place was on the grounds of the old Birds Eye plant. The staff was outstanding the corner room is the best Geno the concierge was the best. Made a new friend for when I come to the east coast
Hotel was very accommodating when I needed to switch dates for my reservation. Made my friend’s 50th birthday celebration perfect by leaving beautiful little sentiments in our room. She felt very grateful.
We honestly loved everything. Rooftop pool was an extra added bonus.
Went to the Beauport for a mid-week getaway. The hotel is clean, updated and has a great location. Our stay became less than stellar when we went to the adults only rooftop pool. The pool is SUPPOSED TO BE ONLY FOR STAYING GUESTS. There was a shortage of chairs and soon became very overcrowded. We heard a woman say out loud that she was staying at the hotel and told her local friends to meet her on the ground floor so she could bring them up to the pool on her room key. At least 5 women joined her. Then another group said “they knew a guy on the first floor and he lets us sneak in”. The pool area was overrun by locals - not guests. So we pay $600 a night and cannot get any space at the pool. We went back up to the pool at 8 pm and the same behavior was continuing. There were people vaping in the pool area. Management has failed here. The hotel needs to issue wristbands to staying guests so this disservice to paying guests will stop. So disappointed- management needs to do better. The locals need to be given the boot. I won’t be back unless there us a policy in place to keep the locals out.
I booked this stay specifically to enjoy a relaxing, premium experience, paying a rate of $600/night.
Unfortunately, our experience was completely disrupted by the hotel's decision to sell $20 public Eventbrite tickets to the Birdseye Rooftop Pool. The pool deck was completely mobbed, and there was not a single lounge chair available for overnight hotel guests. There were even cups being thrown from the roof which can be seen from our window.
When I raised this with the manager on duty, I was dismissed and told that the ticket-holders "are paying guests too." Respectfully, there is a vast difference between an overnight guest paying $600/night for a luxury retreat and a day-pass visitor paying $20. The hotel’s own pool policy explicitly promises that the rooftop is an "exclusive amenity for Beauport Hotel Guests only" to maintain "comfort and controlled capacity." It is a shame because the hotel is beautiful but the lack of management is a problem. The WiFi did not work and there were no breakfast bars as promised.
The pool, the staff and the breakfast was all amazing!!
The lack of seating at the pool and people that were rude about holding seats on the rooftop was very frustrating
ROOM BREAKFAST VIEW VALETS
N A
Absolutely everything! It was beautiful and the staff was so nice and kind. Would love to come stay again.
Nothing .
The hotel, staff, restaurant, and beach were outstanding, and there is a lot to love about the property. However, there was significant noise starting around 3 a.m. from the nearby lobster facility, which made it very difficult to sleep. Given the high cost of the stay, that level of noise was disappointing.
In addition, the room was described as having a “city view,” but the actual view was of the lobster factory/facility. I think this should be advertised more transparently so guests know what to expect.
It is a shame, because the restaurant, beach, and staff were otherwise excellent. The hotel should either improve the noise insulation or be clearer upfront about the noise level and the actual view from these rooms.

Beautiful well appointed property with friendly staff
Our particular room had a weird layout with the TV mounted to the side of the king bed
