We booked this hotel very last minute and weren't really expecting much given how cheap it was, but it was absolutely beautiful. The room was much bigger than we thought it would be and extremely comfortable. The hotel also has an extensive and beautiful garden to the back which is private, secluded, and dog-friendly.
There wasn't really anything we didn't like! Our room was spotlessly clean, staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. The only thing we found was that the shower did not drain quick enough and would start to overspill the edges.
It is a grand hotel, and as we found out,a listed building, beautiful and the garden is stunning!could do with some tlc,a bit worn in places, but has massive potential!staff were lovely!
We went end of June 2026,where it got to 37c,boy does the building hold heat, when we got there it was 36c and 40c in the room and we only had a desk fan and all the windows were shut!they do need to do something so it’s not unbearable in the rooms, even a tower fan would help as it would cost a fortune putting air con into every room.
Shower is a bit difficult, could do with an easier system but worked fine.
The gardens and staff and room
Nothing
Very close to shops, pubs and restaurants and a few miles away from Stonehenge
No air con but they did provide a oscillating fan
Location and great welcoming staff.
Dated needs freshening up.
It was a beautiful old hotel with friendly helpful staff. The building was a little bit worn out but the staff did their utmost to make our stay enjoyable. Lovely breakfast and comfy bed.
There was nothing.
Location was good and breakfast
The place was filthy and run down, shower filled up with hardly any pressure. Staff going past you at breakfast to go outside for a cigarette. Breakfast run had box with water in it that had dripped through the ceiling, inside and outside windows filthy with dead flies around
It's time for you guys to close down or sell. Have had many pleasant stays in the past but it is game over now for you.
Todp bien
The staff were good but clearly understaffed. The cooked breakfast was good and served swiftly. The location was fine with good dining options across the road/nearby.
The hotel is tragically in disrepair. The absentee owners/s haven’t spent money on maintaining what was once a grand hotel and it shows decades of serious neglect. The bathroom was disgraceful as was the state of the barely working dirty relic of a fridge.
Friendly and helpful staff, comfortable rooms, reasonable rate for the night it is also the closest hotel to Stonehenge about a 30 minute walk away
The hotel is very old and dated it has great history with the Beatles and Agatha Christie but it probably hasn't had a coat of paint and carpets since the Beatles stayed there 60 years ago
