Great hotel; won't hesitate to stay again when we return
Pros:

The Rex Hotel is located just outside of the busy city centre but that's the attraction. Choice of Metro stations close by - Lapa for the airport or coast; downhill to Trindade for links everywhere, but used Faria Guimaraes to get back to avoid that last hill walk after a long day.
Very happy with the room, top floor with terrace. The hotel is traditional which makes it attractive, with spacious rooms and good modern facilities. Breakfast was fresh, good quality with plenty of variation. Friendly staff; 24 hour access.

Cons:

Nothing to mention; didn't experience any of the noise issues others experienced (unless you count the traffic at certain times) nor the locals/location.

Bâtiment superbe, avec une chambre spacieuse, belle, qui semblait tout droit sortie d'une revue de décoration!
Pas de parking dans l'hotel mais possibilité de se garer très facilement devant.
Hotel très bien situé, en face d'une belle et grande place arborée et à 10 minutes à pied de l'hotel de ville (point central dans la ville). Nous avons énormément apprécié cet hotel.

Lovely antique hotel, perfectly preserved, with really kind staff.
Pros:

Lovely place. It's an old building but it's kept in beautiful conditions. The staff was incredibly kind and helped with everything we needed. The breakfast was very good too. The room was very comfortable, with a big bathroom. Really nice hotel to stay. I definitely recommend it.

Cons:

Not sure. I really enjoyed my stay there. I can't think of anything that can be improved.

L'hôtel est super, une grande chambre, une grande salle de bain. Tout est très propre ! L'accueil impeccable. Le gros plus de l'hôtel, c'est le parking privé fermé par un grand portail, au moins on sait que la voiture est à l'abri! Le petit déjeuner est très bien, avec de tout pour tous les goûts !

Cons:

La salle du petit déjeuner aurait mérité d'être un peu plus grande, on se marche vite sur les pieds...

The location of the hotel is excellent — close to the city center, with easy access to popular spots. The room I stayed in was spacious and the bed was comfortable.

Cons:

the sound insulation was terrible; I could hear people walking upstairs in the middle of the night, even though I was very sleepy. Also, bring your own flip-flops, as the hotel doesn’t provide any.

Das Hotel The Rex ist ideal für Paare und Familien, die ein paar Tage Porto besichtigen. Zentral .
Pros:

Das Frühstück ist im Preis des Zimmers nicht inbegriffen. Die Zusatzkosten sind in Ordnung, das Buffet wird attraktiv präsentiert, es ist alles vorhanden was bei einem normalen Frühstück gewünscht wird. Preis Leistung ist in Ordnung, der Frühstücksraum ist sehr gepflegt das Personal freundlich. Was will man mehr bei einem Städte Tripp.
