The Dukes Folly is a pleasant hotel but tired. Value for money as it’s not expensive.
Pros:

Cooked breakfast was only offered on the Sunday morning when management decided they would come in and cook it. It was very good. Continental breakfast was included in the price of the room anyway and was ok.

Cons:

The hotel is tired. It is large and has plenty of room on the ground floor but the bedroom we were given was too small for us. We had nowhere to open our cases so they had to be closed and mover when the bed was in use. The shower room was not big enough for us to stand in there and dry ourselves. Electric shower worked well but jet was small. It did have a new carpet and curtains but the curtains need adjusting on the pole to cover the complete window and keep the light out.

Location and the bar lady was very nice

Cons:

Reception was rude , unwelcoming and when told about room 22 next door to us concerning a party in their room until 1.30am then again at 6 am she brushed us off completely as did the email I sent to the hotel with same complaint

Cons:

Lack of chef, arrived Friday. Sat morning, no hot breakfast only sundays?, Sunday morning no chef, no one able to cook a breakfast? Very disappointed, no one around of a evening sat night 11.00 pm to gain access to building key fob didn't work phone went to answerphone, had to throw stones at window bedroom with light on to attract attention, waited 15 mins for door to finally open, not good at all.

A low priced room but you get what you pay for
Pros:

The price was low for a single room, the location is good and the staff are friendly.

Cons:

The bed had an old mattress that had no support, the room was very small and dingy and the continental breakfast was very underwhelming.

Great experience from start to finish
Pros:

Lovely staff member who booked us in. Very welcoming and the hotel was lovely. Very quirky. Excellent choice of breakfast. So nice from start to finish. We will definately revisit here. Loved it.

Disappointed and tired hotel.
Pros:

Location was good for our needs and car park over the road in the church.

Cons:

Room 10 was too small and tired. Quilt, we found the next morning was stained. Water pressure in shower poor. Breakfast - continental only - was mediocre, and we could hear staff shouting in the background. Not great !
