The room smelled like pet pee!
Room was spacious and nice
There was a mess up on payment and the lady didn’t listen when I told her to stop trying to process my card when I already paid booking, she apologized for the experience to my boyfriend but not to me. I worked a whole shift and then had to wait a hour for them to figure it out. The key cards deactivated 6 times in our 4 night stay.
I was very pleased with this Motel, loved the fitness area, pool & hot tub are small But Wet.. lol had a very nice stay. The room Was very spacious, although the living area should be first than the bed
wasn't expecting taco bar breakfast, but it was till good
nothing
Location was great. Pool was nice and breakfast was delicious . Staff was great
Kinda spendy
Stayed here last weekend for the Hudson Hot Air Affair and was pleasantly surprised by how nice this Best Western Plus is. The hotel is extremely clean and well maintained. The beds were very comfortable, and the pillows were amazing—not too flat and not too dense, which is rare for hotels. I also loved that the room had two sets of shades, which made it nice and dark even with the sun shining outside. Breakfast was great as well, with eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy—everything fresh and hot. Overall, I was very impressed and would highly recommend this Best Western Plus to anyone staying in the Hudson area.
Didn't have
Our room was not very clean. Sinks and showers both had residue of some sort as did the mirrors. Fairly certain the towels were not clean, none of them were the same and we had sticky residue on our carpet. I was also charged $25 for early check in. We arrived 2 hours early.
Friendly staff
The hot (lukewarm) tub wasn't working. When staff, the owner/manager I believe, was informed he stated the jets were simply low (malarkey). The hot tub also had some dirt or sand on the bottom. We also reported our toilet was leaking, and staff was sent in with towels to wipe it up. No offer for a different room even. The floor of our shower also had black mold spots (yes, I am aware of what mold looks like).
Comfortable bed...
Used towel hanging on rack upon room entry
We stayed for a hockey tournament so didn't have a choice of hotels. The staff were extremely friendly, hot breakfast was excellent, and the place was very clean overall. But a warning to those allergic to pets, do not stay here because they do allow pets even though they say they do not! We stayed in room 120 and it had a very strong pet odor partially masked by strong deodorizer smell. I reported It to the front desk immediately and asked if it was a room used for guests with pets. The staff said absolutely no, pets are not allowed, and he pointed to a sign on the door that said no pets. So I thought I could run the air conditioner and maybe it was just a musty smell that would go away. It did not. There wasn't another room that could accommodate our family size. The next morning I woke with severe allergic reaction as I'm very allergic to dogs and cats. I had explained to that to the front desk staff, saying it was very important that the smell was not from pets because I was allergic. When we were leaving our room, we heard a puppy whimpering and scratching at the door in the room next to ours! So obviously, either pets are allowed or they are snuck in and not dealt with.
Nice one to stay, Overall very good staff & breakfast, Peaceful to stay and nice ambiance, I tried every hotel in Hudson, one of the best to stay
Great time in the hotel We definitely came back we had a little music concert and I played music for the staff. I will come back
My husband, our 2-year-old daughter, and I stayed here for a wedding from 9/19–9/21. My sister and her boyfriend stayed in the room across the hall. I’m sharing our direct experience so others can make an informed decision.
The first night was uneventful, though our room had a strange smell and didn’t feel very clean. We stayed because of the wedding.
The night after we checked out, I found multiple bites all over my daughter’s back. They became swollen and painful enough that she needed steroids. Around the same time, my sister—who was still in her room—found a live bug. She physically brought it to the front desk, and staff saw it and acknowledged it was a bug. I later noticed I also had several bites on my chest.
We immediately began trying to reach the manager, Sanjay. For weeks, neither my sister nor I could get a call back. Staff repeatedly told us he was out of town. I finally reached him well over two weeks later.
When we finally spoke, I felt he was dismissive and unprofessional, even when discussing our toddler’s medical treatment. He refused a full refund—in fact, we never received any refund at all—despite the situation and the expenses we paid afterward (medical, hot-drying/ruining clothes, and hiring a detection dog to check our home and car). He also asked for my daughter’s medical records, which I was not comfortable providing due to privacy.
My husband later called, and that conversation also became extremely defensive. The manager claimed the bug my sister brought to the front desk was “a wood chip,” even though she had watched it moving and the staff had already seen it and agreed with it being a bed bug. He repeatedly referred to my husband as “your lawyer husband,” which came across as rude and unprofessional.
I was also told that the health department had been contacted. When I called them myself, I was told they were not and haven’t been notified at that time (this was nearly a MONTH later). They eventually checked only the rooms we stayed in—and that was about a month after our stay. When I spoke to Tammy the employee at the desk 3 days later, they had no record of any issue and the room was still open… which is highly concerning.
At that point, we refused further direct communication with the manager and worked only through corporate. Even corporate staff expressed they were surprised that a refund hadn’t been offered. Instead, we were eventually told we were placed on a “do not stay” list. Honestly, that’s fine—after this experience, I would never return.
This situation cost our family close to $1,000, not including the stress and worry over our toddler’s reaction to the bites. And we never received any refund of any kind.
I waited to write this until I had cooled down so I could be clear and factual. I can only speak to our firsthand experience, but based on that experience, I personally would not stay here again and strongly encourage others to use caution.
I see another recent review also stated bed bugs were found (and that was not from my sister or her boyfriend), so we are not the only ones experiencing this. Please use caution when staying.
