Pleasant stay in a beautiful location
Pros:

Good location - in the town and short walk to the beach. Room (and bed) big. Hot and reasonably powerful shower. Breakfast was good. The beer excellent and nice wine.

Cons:

Evening menu/food could have been better but the issues we had were resolved. Dining room is a bit dreary- subtle lighting would help. It’s an old building so needs to

Great location, friendly and welcoming hotel with parking.
Pros:

Room beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Bathroom spacious and clean, shower excellent. Bed and facilities really good. Breakfast and dinner very tasty and good selection. Staff friendly and attentive. Really enjoyed our stay.

Great for a short break
Pros:

Staff, dinner and breakfast. Also complementary beers in room.

Nice to be in Southwold.
Pros:

The place is an old hotel, and that's exactly what you get. Our room was on the third floor and so it was quite a task to carry the bags up there. The bathroom was on a different level and in a different place to the room, and there was no shower, just an ancient bath with a shower rose which you could hold if you knelt in the bath. But the bed was comfortable and there was another toilet and a basin close to the room. The breakfast was absolutely superb as was the dinner. It was nice to have parking on site.

Rooms are nice old hotel style rooms. Traditional furnishings in all areas.

Cons:

The staff were polite and professional but far too busy leading to long waits for service and food in the restaurant, check in etc. Limited spaces in the car park.
