Nice character, in the centre of town
Shower could do with more pressure
Great location in centre of Southwold. Under cover car parking. Friendly staff. Good service. Quality food and beverages.
Stairs. No lifts.
The hotel is situated on the High street in the centre of Southwold. Parking is available at the rear of the hotel and we managed to find a space each day we were there. Bedroom was light and airy with 2 very comfortable easy chairs in the room which was a bonus. We spent quite a lot of time in the evenings with a drink watching the World Cup or Wimbledon in the comfort of our bedroom!! Breakfast is served to order and was delicious. Varied choice including full English or several other options all made to order.
There is no lift in the hotel and the stairs are very steep so its not good for people with limited mobility. We ate in the restaurant on one evening but were not impressed. Overly priced for fairly mediocre food.

Loved the old building, the comfortable room had all you needed for one or two nights it was right in the middle of the town and close to the coast
Great central location and good parking- the room was well laid out with good storage - powerful shower. Generously stocked tea tray and filtered water kept topped up. A friendly welcome when we checked in
The room size was fine for a couple of nights but might have felt cramped on a longer stay. Inevitable for the seaside location but a lot of seagull noise. We were going to have a glass of wine after coming back from a meal but were told we would have to go in the small back bar so went somewhere else. It was a little expensive considering we didn’t have breakfast included.

Room ok but could do with an extra chair.Bathroom ok but bath shower difficult for older person as no hand rail if you have short legs getting in and out.
Food dissapointing both dinner and breakfast.
The suite was large and very comfortable, just right for our 55th wedding anniversary stay. Dinner was great and the breakfast was plentiful. All the staff were extremely welcoming and helpful, especially the lady in reception.
The carpet in the suite was quite worn near the door and entrance to the bedroom.
One night wasn't enough!
Delicious breakfast and the roast lamb for dinner was cooked perfectly 👌
Regarding the room it was very spacious clean and tastefully decorated
