Great food and coffee, cosy and friendly atmosphere and provided fan in room which appreciated due to heatwave
Soft mattress
The Dog is a beautiful building. The bar and dining areas are spacious and the adjoining garden seating area are excellent. The Dog also has good parking facilities, but apparent disabled bays.
All meals were delicious, expertly presented and served by cheerful, polite and professional staff. The option to book breakfast options in advance is an excellent idea.
Because the property is old, many floors are understandably uneven, although few are signed. There is also only one handrail on the steep stairs, and no grab rails in showers (an anti slip shower mat would be the minimum alternative).
Obviously, rooms are not air conditioned although the oscillation of the weak fan could not be adjusted.
As much as we enjoyed our two night stay for a wedding, the accommodation costs were exorbitant and compare unfavourably with some London or more modern hotel accommodation prices.
Charming characterful pub-hotel, with an excellent bar and restaurant and very welcoming staff, with a lovely location in a quaint Kent village. The pub itself and car park had ample space for our needs.
We were using the room simply to stay the night after attending a nearby wedding, and so whilst not a big problem for us it was notable that our room was quite small and if we had needed to stay more nights or spend more time in the room it might have felt uncomfortable.
Amazing food, great atmosphere and comfortable bed.
Absolut empfehlenswert! Ob Qualität des Essens, Service, Ausstattung - alles fantastisch. Ich habe meinen Aufenthalt sehr genossen und kann The Dog jedem empfehlen. Wirklich aussergewöhnlich 🤩
Staff were absolutely lovely, they handled a very rude customer with dignity. The food was 10/10 amazing, location is stunning, although i didn't venture from the hotel. Room was lovely with great facilities. Definitely eat here, it was definitely worth the money!
Rude customers.
Friendly accommodating staff and lovely food
Nothing
The decor, feel, atmosphere. Great full English breakfast.
No hot water in the shower on the morning. Staff notified, adjusted bill and sought to it straight away.
Lovely staff, room was clean, delicious breakfast
Room was very small but did not matter, as we only stayed the night to attend a wedding.
Friendly staff, good beer, excellent food and comfortable bed
I could only stay for one night
You could hear the kitchen extraction fan from the room, a low hum, and breakfast being served from 8am, didn’t work for me- although the team did prepare me a breakfast roll and coffee ro go.
Dinner was awfull no apology just gave a free beer.
