I’ll stay here again for sure
Pros:

It’s right downtown. It’s a funky old historic building with a great vibe. Walking distance to everything. Very “Alaskan”. It isn’t fancy, but it’s cozy and fun.

Book this hotel only if have no other choice
Pros:

Location

Cons:

This hotel is old and amenities are non existent.
No elevator. No air conditioning. Hotel claims water is not safe to drink but does not offer at least one complimentary water bottle.
The spring mattress is terrible, worn out and broken. Not a relaxing experience.
The toilet and the shower light are super noisy. Musty odor in the room.
The carpet has nails sticking out which is very dangerous. Parts of the carpet are cut out and patched with fraying sides.
There is a kitchen with an oven and range however there are no dishes. No pots nor pans so how are we supposed to use it.
Many hotels will consider one hour complimentary late check out. This one doesn’t.
The staff is basically indifferent and the music from the bar that is part of the hotel is loud and obnoxious.
We understand it’s a historical building but other than elevator and air conditioning they could have done a better job on the interior of the room and what they offer to allow a pleasant stay.

Location NOT worth the Obnoxious Dance Thumping all night long.
Pros:

Location. History

Cons:

Music was Obnoxiously, over the top Loud!
It is a bar…but Saturday night, a burlesque show & .no tickets for us staying at the hotel, but those with prior tickets 3:00 am…still so loud our beds shook! IF a hotel is going to allow such crazy, excruciating noise, then those subjected to it should at least be allowed to join in!

Fun place to visit, have a drink, not great place to stay if you want comfort and rest.
Pros:

Location is centrally situated, with a bar downstairs. The bar is cool to visit. They let us change rooms after we reported dark mold and stains on the lower mattress. Generally as clean as you can get an old grimy hotel. They said they'd replace the mattress for the future.

Cons:

The bar plays music very loud until late at night. Drunk people wander the halls. Our bed had mold in the bottom mattress and stains on the bottom sheets that looked like blood or something. We changed rooms and the next room was too hot. Strong "old" odor. Did not sleep well at all.

The hotel and staff were so amazing. Thank you for letting us stay there. It was relaxing and slept
Pros:

We bought our own food at the grocery store so we didn't have to overspend.

Cons:

The bathrooms. It wasn't disgusting it lookd clean. Whoever used the bathroom in the morning, left chunks of hair on the bathroom floor. I picked it up but it was a little gross.

Pros:

The history of the hotel and the bar. We also liked being able to stream Netflix from the room.

Cons:

Stairs! Coming from the back parking lot, the signs were not really clear where to go while we were dragging around suitcases.

Great location, but don't expect peace and quiet during busy nights at the bar.
Pros:

The location was amazing. That's about it.

Cons:

The noise in the room was unbearable on the weekends and karaoke nights from the bar below the hotel. Bed was way too soft. Some bugs were found in bed.

I would stay again if opportunity arose.
Pros:

So this is as described, a historical hotel!! It feels like a 1900’s hotel. You can get rooms with shared baths and showers or pay a little more to get private of both.

Staff was great. Very willing to help out and make stay enjoyable!

Conveniently located next to whatever you might want in downtown Juneau.

Cons:

You need to be aware that in line with the architecture, sound proofing is very limited. Inconsiderate guests can be loud and intrusive in your room. A little background white noise helps significantly!

It does feel like that a “kitchenette” should have some kitchenware to be able to use stove.
