Overall good experience for a night.
Pros:

Loved the location. Walkable to many things.
Old/historic.
Comfortable bed.
Very affordable for summer in Alaska.
Staff was very helpful.
Wasn’t aware the hotel is considered “haunted”, until after checking in. (Glad we had a restroom in our room, so I didn’t need to walk down a potentially haunted hallway in the middle of the night.)

Cons:

Worn down. Could use a refresh & deep clean.
Floor warped.
Steep stairs. Luckily a staff member offered to carry up my big bag.

Hotel in appalling condition

The location. That was it.

Cons:

Everything else. The room was severely cramped and stuffy, and in an appalling condition. There was no sink in the bathroom, just toilet and bath. The room had stove, micrwave, and sink, but no utensils whatsoever to prepare a meal - no cutlery, plates, pots, mugs, nothing. The hotel is old and decrepit NOT in a charming way. The whole place needs to be gutted and remodeled. The beds were hard and lumpy. There was no place to put anything. There was noise from the bar. And WORST of all, there was a suffocating smell of heating oil that burned my throat. The place should be shut down. Do not stay here. We left after one night. The hotel would not refund us for the night we stayed despite the appalling state of it.

Be prepared that is is loud.
Pros:

The location was good. Heart of downtown Juneau! However, a lot of homeless people, very little parking, next to a marijuana store.

Cons:

It was so loud from the bar below. They even offer ear plugs when you check in but it wasn’t communicated anywhere else and I actually thought it was a joke.

Nejstarší fungující hotel na Aljašce. Pan na recepci byl příjemný, i když nemluvím anglicky, tak jsem mu napsal do překladače, pak se ukázalo, že je ze Slovenska a já z České republiky, tak jsme si rozuměli 🤣
Krásný pokoj s vysokou matrací a hodně polštáři, záchod a sprcha jsou společné, což mi nevadí. V okolí spoustu restaurací, baru a obchodů, přístav, kde jsou velké lodě a startují zde hydroplány

Η στενότητα των δωματίων και ότι στο μπάνιο δεν υπήρχε ντους με καλώδιο, οπότε αναγκαστικά έπρεπε να βρέξεις το κεφάλι σου! Καλό είναι να προστεθεί.... Αυτό το πρόβλημα υπάρχει σε όλα τα ξενοδοχεία ΗΠΑ Καναδά, αλλά ευτυχώς σε μερικά υπάρχει κινητό ντους!

Cons:

Πολύ στενό δωμάτιο! Δεν υπήρχε χώρος για τη βαλίτσα, η οποία ήταν μικρή (χειραποσκευή μόλις 7 κιλά ). Στο μπάνιο δεν υπήρχε ντούς με καλώδιο, όπως γενικά σε ΗΠΑ & Καναδά, αλλά θα μπορούσε να προστεθεί, όπως έχει γίνει σε κάποια ξενοδοχεία!

Cool Historical Hotel in Great Location
Pros:

I love the decor and character of this hotel - I can tell it’s in the hands of someone who really places value on maintaining the antique aesthetic of the place, and it felt very much like being in a historical old saloon. The location was perfect, and having the bar adjacent made it easy to meet other people.

Cons:

I do think the rooms would benefit from a more detailed cleaning (ie: sweeping under the bed/cleaning the windows/dusting top of surfaces every once in a while because there’s definitely build-up) but the important things like sheets and shower were clean. Especially for the value, it’s a great place to stay!
