Great Sandton base
Pros:

We stayed at Southern Sun Katherine Street for 2 nights, it took around 30-35 minutes to get there from the airport. We arrived quite early and were able to securely store our luggage while we relaxed by the pool area. We managed to get in our room a little early and it was clean, spacious and comfortable. One of the best features was the free 5km shuttle which was easy to arrange and Sandile (the driver) was great taking us to and from Sandton City. Breakfast was also good which some good options. Overall this was a great place to base yourselves in Sandton.

The view from my window,the shower had hot water and the water came out nicely.

Great place, good location and good value for money

Rude and Incompetent customer service
Pros:

This is the second time I have experienced unacceptable customer service at this hotel. Once again, my room was not ready upon arrival, forcing me to wait alongside several other frustrated guests who were experiencing the exact same issue. When I politely inquired about the delay, the front desk agent displayed a completely condescending and dismissive attitude—refusing to even make eye contact and bluntly stating that it wasn't his job to clean or inspect the rooms. The total lack of accountability, poor communication, and blatant disrespect from the staff are deeply disappointing, and this pattern of poor service needs to be addressed immediately by management.
