Pros:

Sehr schönes, charmantes Hotel in absolut traumhafter Lage oberhalb des Strandes mit schönem Pool, Blick auf den Leuchtturm und sicherem Parkplatz. Das Frühstück ist sehr gut und sehr umfangreich. Das Restaurant zum Dinner konnten wir nicht nutzen, da es total unterkühlt war. Frühstück und Lunch kann man auf der Terrasse genießen. Unser Zimmer sehr schön, ausreichend Platz mit eigenem Eingang direkt am Pool. Da die Nächte sehr kalt waren und die Klimaanlage nicht heizte haben wir einen Heater erhalten. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Pros:

Pretty much everything! Staff are amazing. Rooms are spacious, well appointed and very clean. Food was excellent. Well situated on the beachfront promenade. Close to other restaurants and shops, and a short drive to Gateway.

Great location and well-kept hotel with rooms in desperate need of an upgrade.
Pros:

Wonderful location, overlooking the Umhlanga beach and lighthouse. Breakfast was outstanding and staff at the pool were extremely friendly and attentive. The staff kept the premises in pristine condition and the daily turn down and room servicing was amazing.

Cons:

The rooms need an update and the old fashioned shower-in bath is just not good enough for a five star hotel! Southern Sun needs to invest in updating the rooms.
Sunday live solo saxophonist was too loud and made dining a painful experience to the ear.
