Perfect for a family new year (17 people). Wonderful position overlooking the Lyth Valley. Rooms have been upgraded to a high standard.
Some issues due to staff shortage on the day of arrival which were dealt with.
The location was excellent and fairly convenient for all the towns and destination around Windermere. The house was huge and the bedrooms very well appointed.
Although all the bed linen was clean and fresh, one of the rooms had not been hoovered and the kitchen needed a good clean. Because we had run of the place, we just dealt with it. We did have a problem with one shower that couldn't be turned off after the tap sheered off unexpectedly. This was running for the whole weekend as there was no one available to look at it, and our efforts failed. We are a resourceful bunch and even a power cut which knocked the heating out didn't phase us! We just quietly got things sorted with as little fuss as possible. We had a really good stay and would go again. Perfect for a large group to chill.
It was beautiful and was nice and remote to enjoy the peace and quiet in the mornings. We were a large group of 20 and had the place to ourselves . We loved the wooden themed bar and sitting and dining areas aswell as the balcony. The hot tub was good too and all of the rooms were a decent size.
It could have been a bit cleaner and needs a bit of a freshen up of paint maybe in the lounge area. But was good enough for what we needed it for
A great place for families to get together and have a good time. The privacy was good and the children loved it.
The house is beautiful and the most amazing views. Each room has a luxury feel and suits the house well, keeping the character. The offer of extra facilities such as clay pigeon shooting on site made the whole weekend fantastic. Large and roomy but traditional. Excellent would re book.
A beautiful large property. The on site manager was flexible and friendly and the property itself was just fantastic.
Nothing
Location. Style. Plenty of space and each room with its own en-suite facility. We liked the large central bar area and the hot tub.
Although a full catering kitchen we lacked some equipment but were able to manage to cater for 15 of us in total. A couple of things need a little update (eg peeling wallpaper in the ladies toilet).
Fantastic place for our family get together, the bedrooms are amazing and we loved the balcony and bar area. The views are beautiful.
The indoor and space.
Just missing a few utensils in the kitchen.
Rooms are good.
There was unfinished washing up in kitchen and sink. It was not clean on hallway and the hoover was in the middle of hallway upstairs.
Nice rooms, good location, description matched the house
No one took us round the round when we got there, some rooms hadn’t been cleaned, not enough towels for 17 people
