It's a historic site in Birmingham and was amazing

Beautiful building from 1909, the elevator were efficient. Special thanks to housekeeping facility was absolutely spotless.

Very disappointed in this stay and certainly not up to the Marriott Standards I expect as a gold member. Our keys did not work, every time we needed to get in our room we had to go back to the front desk and have them rekeyed. Elevators were out at times and had to take the service elevator, only one we could get to the 12th floor. Water in room shower was not hot, lukewarm, a couple of lights out in bathroom made if very dark only saving grace there was a small make up lighted mirror. Went downstairs to have coffee on two of the days we stayed there, first day at 7:30 am it was empty and then when they refilled it it was full of grounds and had to ask them to redo it. Second day of stay went down at 8:15 coffee was cold. We had three rooms, spent over 1200 dollars for a three night stay for one room and I just felt it was not a normal Marriott experience. I still have not received a copy of my bill, calling them today, giving them two emails but an hour later, I still have not received a copy of the bill which I was told would be sent to me on Sunday, it is now Monday at 5pm and the hotel still has not sent a copy of the bill. I will not stay at this hotel again and very disappointed in the cost and the service we received. We went to the roof top bar to have drinks and the bartender needed more help. Just overall disappointment.

Location amd the staff was excellent

I have stayed at The Elyton Hotel many times over the past 5 years, and I would say you should avoid this hotel at all costs as there is minimal security presence. I have seen vagrants wandering the halls at night several times. Additionally, during my last stay my vehicle was stolen from the hotel parking lot, as a result of the front desk clerk leaving the valet key box unlocked at night which allowed a vagrant to take the keys and then take my car (we watched the security camera footage). The hotel does not acknowledge or take responsibility for incidents, including any financial losses that you may experience as a result. There are many other fantastic hotels in Birmingham - stay there, not here.

The front desk check in was also amazing, personable and friendly.

I had a great stay. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. They provided ice for an event we were preparing, always greeted us with kindness and helped with luggage, especially Frederick. He stayed with me while I waited for my Uber in the dark to ensure I was safe and helped with my luggage. I highly recommend this hotel.

Jada is the best! she really helped me out even i didn't know where to park. I appreciate the service! she was super friendly and helpful.

Hotel was very classic and the entire staff was nice, especially Frederick and Jordan part of the valet and in The Yard restaurant, Monica and Jarvis were outstanding! These 4 really know their jobs and take pride in providing excellent service!!!

Nice heritage hotel but experienced a few issues.

No water in the room and no one at reception to speak to. We had some travel cups so we were able to source water from the gym. No shower gel & insufficient towels for our party. The bathroom fittings required some attention and the extractor fan did not switch off. One of the beds was missing a sheet.

Decent sized room but all things considered it was not of the standard I expected given the rate.

Nice rooftop bar.
