Villa Pinnawala and Restaurant
Pros:

Very good hotel.Super pool although hand rails would help. Sunbeds with towels available, static shades could be improved. Good breakfast. V.good Sri Lankan buffet lunch at reasonable price but get there before the coach parties arrive! Evening meals have moved from the pleasant open area to an all armchair restaurant which we didn't find very comfortable for eating. Our room was good but the extra bed did limit the space available. Very pleasant terrace to the room. We enjoyed bird watching over the rice field next to the pool. Easy walking distance to the elephant orphanage and to see them in the river in the afternoon. gardens well maintained and service was good if rather slow at times.

Pros:

Upgraded to their new hotel which was very good, excellent swimming pool though hand rails would help. Annoyingly, for a brand new hotel, you had out of bed to turn the lights off! Grounds beautifully maintained. Food fine. A pleasant ambience for relaxing. Across the road from the Elephant Orphanage. Close to other Elephant Charities and the Elephant Poo Paper factory which was an interesting visit.
