Please read carefully
Pros:

Close to the victoria park and uni.

The room was clean and reasonably well presented. The bathroom seemed like it had been recently updated. I stayed for a week and sheets were changed mid week.

Cons:

The negatives are quite significant.

Parking. Parking was quite important for me and from the moment I booked I was told it was first come first served (this ended up not being a problem, but see next). The car park is free but anpr monitored and you will get fined if you don't remember to in put the region each day. I was told i'd need to input my reg everyday even if I left my car there the whole time (which I intended to do) and as I wasn't sure about when the need to input would reset I ended up leaving the car at another car park with a £20 week pass, oother than first and last day, to avoid fines. Also the car park us used by a dental practice during the day meaning that you may struggle to park if your arrival time is pre 5.30pm.

The lobby and hallways were stained and grubby and were quite smelly, like an older smoker's house. As above, the room was clean and smelt fresh.

Ok, the room next. It had a kettle and tv. The tv did not work (this may have just been a battery issue for the remote - I did not query this at the desk as another reviewer says they were threatened with ejection for complaining). The kettle had water in it already and the only sink had a sticker saying 'not drinking water' so the room was literally somewhere to sleep, unless you're prepared trust the kettle and bring your own water. No fridge either but, to be fair, they don't advertise having one.

For ladies, the toilet says to put sanitary products in the bin but there was no sanitary bin in the toilet and only a very tiny swing bin in the main room.

The other rooms seemed to be occupied but there weren't any other cars. It was a little noisier at times, but not too disruptive. I wonder if it's a half-way house of some sort? I think if I was a woman I'd not feel comfortable staying there.

I didn't have contact with staff other than taking and handing back the key so no positive or negative opinion.

Value-for-money for people seeking basic accommodation near central Leicester.
Pros:

Room larger than expected with balcony. Good, quiet location just off main road, allowing walk to city. Good parking lot, friendly staff.

Cons:

No complaints.

Avoid family room 1 !
Pros:

Parking good, location good, price good.

Cons:

Everything about the family room suite, very poor. Needs some serious attention, tired, cold, child scribbles all over walls, really a poor room, had an extra room with a bed base in which was spooky, shower no good. However, our friends double room was lovely, so I'd say avoid the family suites!!!

Good enough for a one night stay
Pros:

The member of staff I met was polite, although he did knock on my door minutes before checkout time to ask whether I was checking out. Strange.
The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the hotel was very well positioned for my needs.

Cons:

The bathroom door was made of glass panels, the bathroom window had no blind or curtains, with the result that my room was very bright around 6am when the sun rose.
I took a shower at 10am, but try as I might I couldn't find a drop of hot water. Maybe it was all used up by that time...

Very happy. Good value. Friendly.
Pros:

Family run. Super helpful & friendly

Cons:

Nothing. Facilities were simple but adequate. Price reflects that. Small bar. No food but we knew that and didn’t want any. Plenty available near by if required.

Cheap
Pros:

Cheap and cheerful. Not a bad location for the de montfort hall.

Cons:

Was not the best but not the worst . Hot water in room took ages to heat up ie good luck having a shower. No soap in the despensers x2 .
But as I said before it was cheap

Awful, would not recommend.
Pros:

The only good thing about our stay was the 24 hour manned front desk which allowed us to have a late check in.

Cons:

The beds were visibly dirty with stains and marks on both the duvet, mattress and pillows, which made us believe they hadn't been washed since the last guests. The beds made us itch too so we had to sleep fully dressed head to toe. The shower was broken and fell off the wall when you shut the bathroom door. During the night, door handles were rattled which made it feel like someone was trying to get into our rooms.

Pros:

Staff were pleasant enough

Cons:

We arrived in the room on the 2nd floor to find the windows were wide open, bear in mind it’s mid December, and the top floor smelt like spice (the prison drug) which is rather unpleasant. While we were waiting for an uber outside, one of the residents, who had been living there for 18 months since his release from prison according to him, approached us asking what room we were in, how long we were staying and if we “wanted some fun” he also guessed which room we were staying in based on the fact we had a toilet in the room. This made my wife and I feel very uncomfortable so we cancelled the uber, collected our bags from the room and left. Other long term residents were roaming the corridors and reception area, and made the whole experience rather unpleasant.

Cheap & cheerful
Pros:

Clean room, welcoming staff. Nice location, walkable to the centre.

Cons:

Could feel the bed springs (on my single bed) and no mirror in the en-suite (but one in the room)
