Stayed here for 1 night earlier this year. Check in was very quick and room was pleasant enough. It’s the newer style Travelodge rooms which, while more visually appealing, this particular hotel has very small rooms and the shower rooms are particularly small. Location is good, walkable to all attractions. Overall a great budget option but not somewhere I’d spend more than 1 night.
Extremely disappointing stay at this Travelodge.
Receptionist not the friendliest on arrival.
Chairs overturned in top of tables on arrival to reception area - not welcoming at all.
Hall not hoovered on way to room, very dirty. Bathroom not cleaned properly.
No hairdryers in room.
Very VERY loud ?pipes?pump in bathroom. Appeared to be connected to the toilet.
Temperature odd to control.
Pillows really need replacing as do the windows which allow all noise to be heard from outside.
Stairs sticky on way from room to receptionist.
Awful experience
Great hotel in a well positioned area. When we stayed there was a couple abusing the breakfast buffet and this was dealt with very well by the staff and management. Perfect place for the docks and shopping. Would happily recommend and will be staying again
Good city centre location with excellent travel connections. Nice atmosphere, didn't feel busy or crowded. The room was nice and clean, clean comfortable bed and plenty of towels, great hot shower. Good value all round. The hotel has good food with a reasonable range of choice, as well as a good bar with good range of drinks. The hotel is quiet and comfortable with close amenities and shops nearby. The thing that made the stay very nice for me was the staff who were really very nice and extremely polite and helpful all of the time, they made me feel very welcome and comfortable. I would recommend this hotel mainly because of the very capable and pleasant staff.
Found this trip not good no hot water shower was cold...Yest did say twice they said was fine...Even tried at different times was to cold to even stand under shower or was hair...
The noisiest hotel room I've ever stayed in and they charged me £150 for the privilege.
The hotel is on a main road and there are traffic lights right outside. You can hear the vehicle engines rumbling as the queue up, revving to get going again, all night. Police sirens screech up and down all night too.In addition there are loud noises from activity on the river.
Internally, you can hear suitcase wheels up and down the corridors all night... banging, thumps, strange sounds from hotel infrastructure. You cant knock the fan off in the bathroom so you hear that too...
Its not a good hotel to book if you want a good night's sleep.
The room was cold. Notices on the walls state that heating is knocked off to save costs when you're not in your room (.. but it's knocked off completely
At breakfast the mushrooms weren't cooked, the apple juice was watered down and the coffee was poor quality instant. Not worth the extra tenner... you can get something much better nearby.
I won't be back.
This Travelodge is perfect for the pier and city centre for exploring Liverpool. Friendly staff, rooms comfortable, cosy and bathroom spotless. Plenty of tea and coffee in the room too. Was fortunate to have a room on the top floor so had an amazing view of the Liverpool pier.
I wanted to come on here to say thank you to charlie and hannah, we came to liverpool for a night for a concert, and my girlfriend had been hurt at this concert and i had been arrested so she was panicking.
I really appreciate how you both went above and beyond to help her out, giving her a drink and offering first aid. you both really helped her calm down and i implore your employers to give you some sort of reward! I cant rate how the hotel room was as i had a 5 star stay at his majesty's pleasure. but will definitely be recommending this hotel to people, staff are lovely and the room was worth it for the price!
Thank you to the pair that were on last night from the bottom of my heart.

Room 911
Hotel inside generally clean and tidy, has what you need for sleeping there, found some of the rooms had a bit too much furniture in making the room seem smaller, but that's personal taste. Found the price cheaper than Premier Inn where you get exactly the same, and the location is brilliant short walk to Liverpool one, and close to the Albert Dock.
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, it's in a fantastic location and within a short walk from Albert Dock, Pier Head, Liverpool 1 and James Street station. Room was clean and comfortable. No power points near the mirror, so drying hair is a challenge.
We were on the 9th floor facing the waterfront, road noise is loud and could be a problem in summer if you want the windows open. I grew up in London and am used to traffic noise, but found this intrusive.
There's currently a lot of work going on at Albert Docks and it's very noisy from all the construction. Bare that in mind if you're going any time soon and fancy an afternoon nap!
Liverpool is amazing though, and this travelodge is a good base to explore from.
Arrived on Friday for our 3 night stay as we were attending the Liverpool Comic Con.
After 3 years of coming here to the cons and staying at Premier Inn hotels we thought it was a great idea to try a Lodge, especially as they were at least 25 % cheaper. We had no idea what to expect as reviews were mixed
We were surprised at how good the hotel is(we are currently here room 414), lovely cosy rooms with very nice shower and toilet rooms.
Clean hotel is an understatement, it was immaculate all over.
Best of all was reception staff and manager, they made our stay that extra special by sorting out in a matter of minutesba problem my wife in our second room had.. No questions asked.
The hotel is 14 minutes to the Albert Dock (comic con)
and 5 minutes to the nearest greggs(love greggs). On site Tesco express in same building is a plus of this hotel.
12 minutes walk to Liverpool One first shop, and then then you are in all the shops area.
Uber from airport was £25
I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Liverpool.
On arrival we were met with a friendly staff member and check in was seamless.
The room however stinks, and they probably know about this as the window was wide open despite heavy rain outside.
We were just settling down for the night and we were evacuated with a fire alarm. Apparently 2 rooms were smoking. I hope they were asked to leave. So inconvenient for all other guests and those with real poor mobility when the lifts couldn't be used. They should be ashamed of themselves.
After a poor nights sleep. Lumpy pillows (all 4) and waking up to zero hot or even warm water is not a great start. The engineer won't be out for a few hours.
Sometimes these things happen but has put a dampener on our first morning here. Great central location though even though the Q1 car park was difficult to navigate and find initially. It's in the middle of the road and can only be accessed from one direction.
My son booked hotel stay for myself and my daughter. Travelodge Liverpool Central The Strand is a great location for visiting and sightseeing. Across the road from the Docks, 10 minute walk to the shops and there is a small Tesco next door. Room was very clean and the staff, especially the manager are very friendly and helpful. Can also recommend Rise, Rough Handmade bakery at the Docks and the Beatles Story.
Paid extra and pre-booked a specific room but upon checking in was told it had already been given to someone else! No explanation given as to why. Disappointing as the first night was over £170!
Lack of staff behind reception and waited a while to be checked in. Room was clean and the bed comfy but the TV was way too small and a lack of sockets near the bed was inconvenient as I needed to use my laptop in the evenings. Bathroom mostly clean however curtain rail was very dirty and could do with replacing. The bath didn't not drain quickly so it was filling up during my shower and at risk of overflowing! Room was a family room however felt like a second bed was just shoehorned in and made the room feel very cramped.
Room was also very warm even with the windows open. I've stayed in Travel Lodges before and all rooms had air con so unsure why this was missing from my room.
Also they seem to have an issue with their door cards. I had the same issue the last time I stayed where they would randomly stop working and needing to go to reception to get them re-programmed. Luckily I was given two cards this time so when one stopped working I had a spare. Last time I visited I had to visit reception 4 times over the course of 24 hours as I could not get into my room!
Bar staff were friendly and in general the room and hotel was clean.
I stayed at this hotel recently and found it to be a bit of a mixed bag. The location was absolutely spot-on — right in the heart of everything, with easy access to shops, restaurants, and public transport. For the price, it was excellent value, especially compared to other options in the area.
That said, there were a few things that let the experience down. The bed was quite uncomfortable, which made it hard to get a decent night’s sleep. The corridors looked like they hadn’t been hoovered in a while, giving off a slightly neglected vibe. And the shower curtain in the room had a damp, mouldy smell that really should have been addressed prior. I didn’t complain as I was staying for a football match and just using hotel to sleep and go again.
Overall, if you’re looking for a budget-friendly place in a prime location, this hotel ticks those boxes — but be prepared to compromise a bit on comfort and cleanliness.
Staff were excellent. Genma on desk was fabulous and very patient helping with several booking mistakes I had made.
Hotel very good value for central Liverpool. Will use regularly.
The staff were amazing, polite, helpful and very welcoming. The room was warm, comfortable and clean. The breakfasts were superb, with great choice of both hot and cold options. Plenty of choice in drinks again both hot and cold.
We were given choice of rooms, but the woman at the front desk never offered an accessible room, even though I'm in a wheelchair. I didn't realize the standard rooms were so inaccessible until we got into our room.
There was such a a small gap between the bed to get to the toilet or the seats that we had to actually climb over my chair to get anywhere as there was 0 space.
We ended up having to ask to change rooms and thankfully another front desk worker did and was great about it. But we had to struggle the first night and it was very awkward and painful for me and my partner.
And an issue with the accessible room we were put in was it had two single beds squashed together to make a makeshift double. But they kept separating during the night and we kept falling through the middle, meaning we didn't sleep well at all. I hope there's other accessible rooms with double beds as its quite shocking, and frankly ableist, to assume that people in accessible rooms are just a carer and the disabled person, not a disabled couple who want to sleep together. I can understand logistics, but if that's the case, have better bets that can separate into singles...
Also, the lifts are incredibly hard to get into as they're tiny, very hard to back out of too (you can't turn your chair as there's no room). We couldn't fit myself, my partner and our bags in as it was so small. The flooring is also peeling off, which made it harder to get my chair into.
One positive I will say is I left my jewellery box in the first room and a cleaner found it and put it into the accessible room with a lovely note. I cannot thank them enough as it had incredibly special jewellery inside.
It's decent for the price and it close to a lot of attractions and activities, but as a disabled person, id think twice about staying here. Unless you're okay with the twin rooms and lifts...
Loved location cleanliness and the friendly helpful staff.
My room very clean with fabulous view of the docks. Being a solo traveler it’s important for me to feel safe and secure within the hotel and my room. All restaurants within short walking distance, I am certainly planning to visit again.
Thank you, Gundega, for your kindness and care — you are a real credit to Travelodge!
I’ll definitely stay here again next time
