Awesome food, nice room
Pros:

The rooms and the view was amazing and very clean when we checked in but the only thing that we stayed for four nights and the thing was missing is the lack of cleaning while we stayed. The staff and food is really good we will definitely come back

Overall an average to below average experience, the location was ok, a short walk (5/6 minutes) from the DLR, we had rooms 722 and 719 and had fantastic views, I’d selected those rooms online by looking for a floor with lots of empty rooms, to minimise the noise, and in that sense it worked well, there was no guest noise. BUT there was a noise, a high pitch buzzing or humming noise that came and went intermittently all day and night, it made for a very disturbed night’s sleep (or lack of). I have now seen many other reviews mention this, you’d think it would be sorted?

The room was basic, but clean. The bathrooms were tired and the showers pitiful, especially 719 where the shower head was so clogged only 3 of the holes let water out. No hairdryer in the room and when I asked for one I was told I’d have to wait for housekeeping to come in at 10am… needless to say we’d intended to be up and out before then.

All in all, a disappointing stay, but the room was at least clean and tidy.

Pros:

Great location for 02, Dlr, car parking right outside so pleased we managed to get a spot, check in/out was straight forward, our rooms were spotless, some occasional noise from plumbing, some instructions for heat/air con would have been helpful for me. Breakfast had lots of choice and Mary ensured it's kept spotless.

Pros:

Great stay rooms are spacious and comfortable. Very attentive service in both the bar and cafe area.

Special mention to Mary who looked after us at breakfast and showed me where all the dairy free items were.

Pros:

The location is great, very close to the DLR, and the atmosphere is pleasant. Our room was clean and comfortable, and overall it offers good value for money. Breakfast was fairly basic, but the service was excellent—especially Mary, who was outstanding. She was very helpful and always greeted us with a smile. Thank you, Mary!

Bed Bugs Confirmed

We have a family booking over three rooms as a Christmas Gift for Jan 2nd for 2 nights. We have read the awful reviews regarding bed bugs and saw the photos. We called and the first woman advised customer services are closed for the holidays which is not ideal for issues. She advised to call Docklands directly to disccuss. I called Docklands and the receptionist kept saying she couldn't change the booking. I queried why she was avoiding my reasons to cancel and asked if the reviews are true, have they got bed bugs and she CONFIRMED yes ! I asked her to repeat her name and she hung up on me, but I have the call log on my phone. I called back to reservations number and got a very helpful person this time who has taken our details and passed them on to complaints to discuss the refund. Although we have booked under the saver rate, under the circumstances we should be getting a full refund regardless, it is disgusting! We are awaiting the call back !

Great stay!
Pros:

We had just one night at the hotel and it was great. The hotel was fully booked and the breakfast service was exceptionally busy with a constant queue. The bar cafe team members were brilliant, constantly clearing to ensure wait times were minimal and food was constantly coming out from the kitchen. Well done to Mary and the whole team!

Worst experience with Travelodge at Docklands Central
Pros:

Will not recommend this. Have had various issues during the stay. Starting from air conditioner not working to soap dispensers being empty. The rooms were not cleaned as part of the daily service. All that was done was towels were topped up and tea bags. Raised the issue with management regarding air conditioner not working. I was only given a fan to use. Though there were other rooms available, the staffs didn’t manage to check the system and straight away was told no rooms available and only option is to take the fan or not to take the fan. With two kids, it’s definitely not a good experience without the air conditioner. The room was always hot and was hard to sleep. I stayed for 4 nights and would not recommend. The parking was a horrible experience.

CUATION ! BED BUGS BED BUGS ALERT!
Pros:

My best friend has already written the review about our bed bugs experience in this hotel but I want to leave a review based on my own harrowing experiences during our stay because I never forgot how I was treated during this whole ordeal so I will make sure that customers should know before booking in this hotel.

We were booked in this hotel from Dec 19 to 23, 2025 for tourism.
Firstly, upon check in we were already informed that we only get 1 time 30 mins wifi in our entire stay and that we have to purchased extra WIFI connection if we want to! Somehow this is something manageable for us.

Secondly, upon arrival inside the room it was pretty obvious that the room was not cleaned before we checked in. There were visible dust in the bed and side tables which we didn´t mind at all since we were tired already as we have arrived past midnight.

Third, when I woke up the next morning I saw 3 bed bugs in my blanket as I lifted it from my body. I panicked and decided to crushed them between the sheets so it left blood stains on the blanket. Then we went down to the reception and reported it.

Lastly, the worsssssttttt part of all this ordeal was when we reported it to the reception on 20th morning before going out for sight seeing. Jamal who was the "Assistant Manager" was the one whom we reported it to. And the first thing he said is that " Show me . Where are the bed bug bites?” Was he expecting me to strip off my clothes in the reception area just to show proof that there are bed bugs? And at that time there were no visible bites yet as it was new it only appeared later in the evening. You can refer to the uploaded pictures imagine how many beg bugs has feasted on me. I had bites even at my back, legs and face.
Mind you this is a very serious issue that they should address right away to contain these creatures but instead of doing that this JAMAL was so rude, unhelpful and accused us that we brought the bed bugs to the hotel! He was “ kinda “ insulting at this point already.

We politely asked to be transferred to a new room but according to him as part of their “policy” there should be an investigation whether the bed bugs came from us or from the hotel and that we can´t change room to avoid transferring it to new room. So we asked if they can do the investigation today so when we came back we can be in a new room. Then he said no it is not possible since it may take days ! So he was indirectly f###### telling us to stay in a bed bug infested room till they get done with their investigation and that our clothes must be dry cleaned before moving to new room!!! So I asked, “If it will be proven that the bed bugs are from this hotel who will pay to dry clean our clothes and of course he said that we have to shoulder the cost- imagine how much we have to pay to dry clean all winter clothes that we have packed! And from that answer me and my friend just gave up explaining ourselves to him and just decided to just stay on the same room because they never ever cared at all and we don´t want to ruin our planned tour! They didn't even think that us moving from our hotel room to the breakfast area , to the lobby and reception that we might possibly spreading those bed bugs already!

Before checking in , in this hotel we were staying in one hotel in Edinburgh for 4 nights as well and we never had any records in that hotel that we have complained about bed bugs!

All we asked that time was to transfer us to a new room so we can leave our stuff so our vacation will not be ruined. We never asked to be treated like a royalty nor asked for any other compensation. We tried to be very understanding that "bedbugs in hotel" is something inevitable due to the amount of travelers from different parts of the world who uses that room. Instead we were treated badly by " JAMAL" , instead of being helpful and understanding with our situation he deliberately chose to be rude, unhelpful and at one point I even thought he was racist towards us. Never even said sorry for the inconvenience that they have caused to us!

TRAVELODGE IN MY OPINION I THINK YOU NEED TO GET A NEW ASSISTANT MANAGER OR SEND THIS JAMAL TO A CUSTOMER SERVICE TRAINING! He was even claiming that we should complain to customer service because he is not customer service! LOL! Why were you even promoted to this position if you couldn’t even show willingness to assist us! Never even provided the number or email address to contact the specific customer service people that he was referring to! All we got was rudeness, push backs and left with no other choices.
On the third night we came back, with one bed turned up side down without prior notice to us that they will move us to new room. When we came to reception I made sure to film everything and that´s when they informed us that they have moved us to new room! But if I had not filmed it and complained about the bed bugs while there were guests checking in for sure they wouldn't have moved us to new room! And surprise new room has clogged shower drainage!

This experience has also ruined my Christmas, all presents that I bought from UK for my family were not given to them! All of my stuff and presents were still outside in a black garbage bag because we were all afraid that it has been infested by bed bugs too!

We have travelled and stayed in different hotels in other countries but we have never ever experienced this kind of treatment. This is something that I never expected from any hotel in London area. So never again we will book in this chain of hotels.

Pros:

Stayed with Travelodge here for the first time and all I have seen from them is a cheap costcutting company who doesn't care about their customers and are all about maximum profit.
We are 2 nights into a 6 night stay and only told today we don't get our room made up or cleaned during our stay! Including the bathroom and not even any bleach in the loo! We have stayed in many different hotel chains and never had such poor service and that's including many Premier Inns where we have always had faultless service.
Also, we don't get clean cups or spoons and have to use the same ones for our stay without being able to clean them properly. We also have to go down to reception everyday for toilet rolls, coffee sachets etc, as they don't top them up even with us hanging the tag on the door asking for it.
Checking in is a nitemare as their car park is tiny with nowhere to park, so you have to leave your vehicle on double yellow lines and risk a fine just to check in.
Breakfast is really poor with a very small selection and wish we hadn't prepayed for it.
Finally we tryed having our evening meal here tonight and ordered a knickerbocker glory which in the description should have bananas and cherrys in and was sent out full of apple instead with no explanation!
With so many allergies around these days people need to be informed of changes to food.

Unhygienic hotel and very rude assistant manager

We arrived past midnight Friday fromEdinburgh, we were very tired so we slept straight. Then when we woke up, my friend found bed bugs so we immediately went down and complained to the reception. Jamal who happens to be the asst manager they say was very rude and never heard from him the word sorry or never apologized for what we had experienced. He told us to dry clean our clothes with our own expense and cannot give another room until investigation is done. We went to London as tourists. We didn’t want our plans to be ruined so we went back to our room and imagine with bed bugs and my friend has all the bites all over the body where the hotel cannot give any assurance to transfer us to another room .

Then we arrived in the evening and no one cleaner ( what kind of hotel !) first time to experience bed bug and very poor customer service.

The following day when we found out upon arriving that one bed was put upside down and still didn’t clean the room so we were so angry again and we went down to complain infront of many guests and this time my friend made sure to film it so we can get a good answer. They did transfer us to another room but with clogged drainage what a very bad experience again. We got tired of complaining and told myself that we will never book with third party hotel like this travelodge with only 30 min wifi free and bed bugs free!!!

The ladies in the dine in like Mary and Susan were nice

The reception who are expected to be nice and friendly were not!!! Plus no customer service experience. Is that hard to apologize? Do they feel that their ego has been stepped off by saying sorry.

Sorry to say but we paid huge amount for this hotel and we got the worst service from Jamal and one lady in the reception!!!

We will make sure that all these photos will be posted everywhere its not only to shame them but for guests to be aware and not waste money or destroy their travel plans
