Good location from our activities, plenty of shops and if you’re looking for a good night The Ancient Ram Inn is 5 minutes away!
The only thing I didn’t like is that I couldn’t take the pubs dog home 😭
Great place, friendly staff and greeted by Stanley the cat.

All the staff at the Swan Hotel were welcoming and friendly. We booked a standard double room, which was a very good size, with good facilities and comfy bed. Overall very pleased. We would definitely stay again
Great location. The room was huge and the shower was fantastic 😊
Large room with 4 poster bed. Great shower.
Went for lunch with friends after asking a local for a recommendation otherwise we might not have found this place. Food was all beautifully fresh with very generous proportions. Plenty to choose from on the menu even for the picky eaters among us. Staff were lovely. Loos clean and pleasant. Planning to make this our stop off point when travelling the M5 - way better than a service station, even the renowned Glos Services.
Good location in a lovely town
Breakfast, both light and cooked was excellent. although the vegan options were a little sparse. One issue with the vegan options. due to not being catered for as much as other customers the milk provided needs to be kept a check on, we were served with milk that had been in the carton a while and had gone off. It was taken away and changed straight away so no problem. maybe serve milk in a clear vessel
Excellent bed and nice decor. The area around the hotel very nice indeed. Excellent dinner and breakfast.
In our room was a big step up to bathroom so was worried about getting up in the night and trip over. this, however, is obviously nothing that can be done about.
Proximity to town and our family
Convenience and friendliness of staff
Leak in bathroom
Convenient and staff helpful
Couldn’t get heating on so room was cold
The friendly staff and lovely large room with a great shower unit. The cozy bar was very nice too.

What has happed to the food here!!! I’ve always been a supporter of this establishment over the years, and never been disappointed with the food up until today.
We’ve just had a take away order and what we received was beyond edible so much so that I had to throw it all in the bin. The beef burgers which we’ve always ordered in the past used to be advertised as gourmet and hand pressed and very good quality, have been replaced by what felt like cheap, overcooked thin patties which you’d get from a burger van, I had 2 bites and had to throw it away they tasted disgusting. The sweet potato fries were burnt and overcooked to the point they were inedible there was no potato left inside, I had to also throw them all away.
Overall, the meal was completely inedible, and I’m really disappointed. I hope you’ll address these quality issues the prices have increased and the quality gone down, such a shame and we won’t be returning to here when there are nearby establishments selling better food. It’s such a shame that you have cut cost and lost out on quality. I did try to phone to discuss this matter within an hour of receiving the order, but nobody answered the phone.
Great meal went with a load of friends not one of us 20 people had a bad experience it was exquisite will definitely be back
The service and food was so poor tonight we almost refused to pay for our meal at all. We ordered shortly after we were seated. 45 minutes later we were still waiting for our starters, with no check-in from staff. We managed to flag someone down and asked for an ETA. They came back shortly after and said they had a big party in and 'it'll be a while longer.' After we outlined the wait time again another staff member came and offered us some drinks and agreed to give us some bread. We received one slice each. The starters arrived ten minutes later and were quite nice. Our mains arrived shortly after, however they had evidently been sat under the heat lamp for some time as the mash and garlic bread were bone dry, and the quality of the rest of the food itself was not good. Nobody came to check if we were ok. We ate a little but decided we would rather go home. We waited for our plates to be cleared for 20 minutes. We ended up having to ask for the bill which was eventually brought over with a service charge added on. We requested this be removed, and waited another 10 minutes for this to be done and brought back. After another 20 minutes, with us waiting in our coats clearly wanting to go, we had to ask for the card machine to be brought over. The whole evening was laughably bad, for a cost of £90 for no service and inedible food.
