An affordable hotel right by Hakodate Station as a good base of operations for seeing the city!
Pros:

Excellent location, good room size, and decent facilities (washer machines, vending, and an oyster bar on the first floor!).

Cons:

We could hear all the conversation and other noise out in the hallway whenever someone was coming back or taking off…

Great location. Good stay for quick trip.
Pros:

Very close to station and morning market. Free parking lot nearby.

Cons:

Person greeting guests at the check-in line was very poor at English and had to walk back to other staff for assistance several times. Others behind the front desk was proficient and spoke very good English. Maybe they need to swap positions. Also water pressure is terrible. Almost bad as back in the states where cheap hotels use flow restrictors.
