Clean, very good venue, bar staff and reception were lively and polite
We found breakfast to be average. There was a lot of us having breakfast due to party night before so understandable. However one of the ladies serving, we found to be rude and extremely un helpful. Many commented on the same lady. She was very abrupt in approachable.
The staff were exceptionally friendly. The corridors smelled really fresh and the room immaculate. I had booked it for a business trip and had relatively low expectations but to see it was so nice, clean and had that little bit of luxury too was a very pleasant surprise and my wife and kids had joined me for going away to York for that weekend, so she too was delighted with it.
The lad behind the bar had some great patter. We met the owners husband (probably pretending not to be the co-owner) and he was really friendly and nice to our family. The lad behind the bar served our dinner too with the help of a lovely woman, who was also really nice to talk to and pleasant.

The window was extremely difficult to open. It would not stay up if lifted from the bottom and the pull handles, right on the top of the windows, were impossible for me to reach although my husband, at full stretch did manage to.

Lovely building, modern but with the oldy worldly feel. Friendly staff, the food was lovely from the evening meal to the breakfast!
Self check in, check out. Took the personal touch away, no signage to say room numbers which is such a shame as the staff were super friendly and attentive and couldn’t have done enough for you. So seemed strange to not be greeted by them on arriving.

The fitness suite was of a poor standard. More like a storage room with tables and chairs in there with limited gym equipment in it.
