Everything was great from staff to location to facilities.
Really close to the beach but the pool felt better.
Sometimes the smell of garbage was noticeable, breakfast was a surprise with local and European things and options.
Excellent staff, great and beautiful property. They even upgraded us immediately as there was a smell of mold in the room. Good Asian breakfast and the massage was ok before to go outside and across the road. Amazing massage and vibes and super clean.
The massage wasn't great and there was a weird smell on the bed and also on the eye patches. The lady who was massaging me was no consistent and was trying to finish fast and it was not relaxing at all. The lights were on even after I requested they be turned off like the bathroom lights etc. She said yes and probably didnt understand.

Travelers Beware: Serious Service & Security Issues at a Supposed 5-Star Hotel
I stayed at Swarga Suites with my wife for four nights from January 11th–15th, and what we experienced was extremely disappointing and concerning for a hotel advertised as 5-star. I am writing this review to alert fellow travelers, especially about communication failures, poor service, and missing personal items after checkout.
1. Communication & Contactability
The hotel lists a direct phone number (+62 361 9347299) on its website and on Google, yet the number does not ring or work at all. The only method to reach staff is through WhatsApp, and even then they do not answer calls on WhatsApp and only respond via text. This means it is impossible to actually speak to management or senior staff. For any hotel, let alone one claiming 5-star status, this is a serious red flag.
2. Room Conditions
We booked their most expensive room type (pool access). The first room (215) had a strong damp and mold smell to the point that it felt difficult to breathe. Even the staff who came to inspect the room eventually agreed the smell was not acceptable. We were moved to room 211. This is not the condition one expects from a hotel of this category. The bathroom door in our room didn't even lock and they had to arrange for it to be fixed.
3. Facilities & Restaurant Quality
The minibar in our room did not work and had to be replaced by maintenance. We also tried the only restaurant on property and the food quality was extremely poor. After that experience we chose to eat outside for the remainder of our stay.
4. Service Standards
Service throughout the property was unprofessional, slow, and far below the standard of any reliable 5-star hotel we have stayed at elsewhere. Staff felt untrained and there was no sense of customer care or management presence.
5. Checkout Incident
On our final morning, as we were preparing to leave for the airport, a staff member stopped my wife in the lobby claiming a missing hand towel. It was shocking to be questioned in this way given the category of hotel and the fact that we were still in the lobby with luggage, clearly about to depart. It was an uncomfortable and unnecessary experience that left a very bad impression.
6. Missing Personal Items After Checkout
After returning home, I realized I had forgotten a necklace in the room which had significant sentimental value, as well as several personal items we purchased ourselves and kept in the minibar (including a bottle of rosé wine, tequila, beer, chocolates, and two perfumes). When we contacted the hotel—once again only via WhatsApp due to their phone not working—the hotel claimed housekeeping found nothing at all. There was no record or log of any items left behind. For a property claiming 5-star status, this lack of accountability and transparency is alarming. We have screenshots of all communication for reference.
7. Escalation to Authorities
Due to the nature of the missing items and inability to properly communicate with hotel management, the matter has now been escalated to the Bali Police, Bali Tourist Police, and our embassy in Jakarta. This is being handled through legal assistance so that the situation is documented through proper channels.
Final Thoughts
We booked Swarga Suites due to its location and supposed 5-star rating, but the experience was extremely disappointing, stressful, and ultimately costly due to the missing items. Travelers seeking reliable service, proper management, and safe handling of personal belongings should think twice before booking. I genuinely hope this review helps others avoid the issues we faced.
