Room too hot due to suspect thermostat.
Lack of staff in restaurant. Had to go to reception to find staff even between courses.
Main course cooked in oven and served in container.
Getting to rooms was somewhat similar to Hampton Court but not as enjoyable.
Rooms seem to be on different levels to get to the same floor.
The staff were A1.
Friendly staff, lovely garden.
Toilet door wouldn’t close but I informed receptionist on leaving
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Room was smaller than expected (from the photos), and decor etc a bit tired.
Cleanliness throughout was poor.
Lots of aspects were in a state of disrepair, not working or not available.
Location close to university and broomhill
Old fashioned rooms and run down
Breakfast was amazing
The bath was very small
Good enough location. Friendly staff. Room was tiny but comfortable. Efficient heating, which you can switch off if you like.
Inconvenient shower; not nice when hot water suddenly switches off when you are showering. Not a single shelf in the bathroom at the sink. Limited breakfast. English breakfast is not a buffet, you need to order, and then I waited for 20+ minutes for a small plate.
Also, there is a huge amounts of stairs everywhere in the hotel. Not an issue as such for me, but visitors should be made aware of that.
Lovely hotel. In a really good location for heading into Sheffield for a beer our 3. Staff very nice and pleasant. The room was amazing. Plenty of extras and a lovely shower
The mattress was a little to hard for me
Really well cooked and lots of variety
Parking felt a bit expensive and not enough room because parking was full and had to park awkwardly.
All the staff were really lovely and friendly
Alison was so helpful
It’s a tad tired but it’s still good value for money
I would recommend
Loved the hotel handy for me as I had a very early appearance at the hallamshire hospital which is next door. Lovely clean hotel. Had a meal as well and that was perfect. Couldn't ask for a better experience.
Nothing
Comfortable room. Friendly helpful staff. Perfect location for my needs
I didn’t really enjoy my dinner but that might have been a poor choice on my part
The staff were very friendly and helpful, answering my questions and providing me with an extra pillow and an extension cable. Also helping me carry my suitcase up 2 flights of stairs.
Good shower and reasonable sized clean bathroom
The breakfast - both cooked and buffet - was good.
Lovely view of the garden from the dining room
I would have preferred to have a teapot of tea made with boiling water for my breakfast cup of tea, rather than just the half cup of not quite hot enough water provided by the machine.
I found the bed a little hard for my liking - the pillows likewise.
The decor was decidedly past its best, with peeling paper and chipped paint. The single room was a little tight for space and only 2 sockets, both already in use - but extension cable was provided on request.
The last flight of stairs had very narrow treads.
Great breakfast included in the stay
Slightly far out of the main town centre
Most convenient for us as visiting relatives nearby
Too many stairs and very convoluted way to get to room
