Great location, charming hotel, helpful staff
It’s not about the hotel but be aware that parking is quite expensive in Vilnius
Located right in the old town of Vilnius. We stayed here for one night during a round trip.
Check-in was very good and friendly, with plenty of helpful tips. Extremely short walking distances to the old town and all major sights.
We had a room on the 3rd floor. It was clean, sufficiently spacious, well equipped, and quiet, however, only with the windows closed. With the windows open, it can get quite noisy, as you can hear every car and people on the street (cobblestones).
Breakfast (served in the basement vault) was good and sufficient.
Parking near the hotel is very difficult or extremely expensive (blue zone over €60/24h). The red zone is about 500 m away (around €25/day, payable 8 a.m.–10 p.m.). The hotel can arrange parking at cost price, but you can conveniently unload or briefly stop in front of the hotel.
We liked the central location, but next time we would prefer a hotel with its own parking or something a bit outside the centre. However, that is a matter of personal preference. The hotel itself was good.
Virtually everything
One small thing. The automatic bathroom light was a complete nuisance. It went on when you didn’t want it on and sometimes went off when you did
Unfortunately, this review is a reflection of a five star previous experience. We stayed here in 2022 and were blown away by the room quality and the amenities. It seems that in the past four years, the standards have really slipped and they are resting on their laurels from the first years post COVID. Even though the price we paid was double our 2022 stay, we thought it would be worth it for the incredible room and breakfast service; it was not. The room was cramped, the walls had large dust bunnies stuck to them, the provided mugs were covered in stains, the shower flooded the bathroom floor, and the hairdryer short circuited after 30 seconds. Art in every room? Not ours. The walls were blank and very challenging to navigate the sloped wall. The breakfast, which historically was a feast for the eyes and belly (with many gluten free options) was a shadow of its former self. The bacon was ice cold, the mugs had lip stick stains, and the provided gluten free bread was stale rice cakes. When asked if there were fresh rice cakes available, the was a curt “no”. It is with a heavy heart that I write this review, but with five star pricing, it really failed to deliver a five or even four star experience. The location is amazing, but there are other hotels nearby with more affordable options and likely better amenities. My hope is that the Artagonist can turn around these slipping standards, but I can’t afford to find out with the new pricing model.
Reception darbuotojai - be priekaištų! Erdvus kambarys (gaila, langas buvo į vidinę pusę), švaru, viskas patogu. Maloniai nustebino geriamas vanduo kambaryje.
Maloni pusryčių darbuotoja.
Labai garsiai veikė kondicionierius.
Per pusryčius nebuvo duonos skrudintuvo.
