Lacks luster and needs improvements
Pros:

The history… and the Sunday brunch breakfast was outstanding. The food was delicious.

Cons:

The facilities were in great need of repair. I stayed there to attend a wedding on site. I booked two rooms. My elderly parents in their 90s were in one of the rooms. Unfortunately, there was only one working elevator for the entire building, and it only worked periodically. My parents, both in their 90s, were forced to carry their luggage up three flights of stairs and back down again because the elevator was not working and no one would help them. It is not ADA friendly at all. There is not even a bathroom on the main floor where the lobby is. You have to go downstairs to the basement or upstairs to the second floor to use a restroom. At the night of the wedding reception, which was on the first floor, my parents were forced to walk downstairs or upstairs to use a restroom. Ridiculous. I really wanted to like this hotel, and the history is fascinating. However, the facilities are in dire need of repair. With a little bit of refurbishment and care, this hotel could really make a grand statement. In its current state, however, it definitely underwhelms.

Ballroom was beautiful

Cons:

Couldn’t find the front desk to check in. Not signs no directions. When we arrived no one was at front desk. Elevator didn’t work so we had to climb up and down 3 flights of stairs.

Great Value and great ambiance!
Pros:

The staff was very helpful. They worked with us to get a room facing the river, and to show us the room we booked for our granddaughters wedding night on May 30th. It was a much better value than we expected, being a historic landmark.

Cons:

The restaurant could have been open later. With daylight savings time, we got inside later than expected and the restaurant was closed. But we found ALL the local ones were closed, as well. We ended up having to go to Walk Ons, which we like, but we're wanting to try something different.
