Hyatt Place West Des Moines/Jordan Creek

This hotel is in a great location that feels very safe. The staff was great and my room was very clean. I need access to a refrigerator. When I arrived the one in my room was not working properly. I called the front desk and within five minutes someone was there to change it out. Would stay again.

The hotel was very clean and very inviting. Staff was very friendly. Our room was so nice except the bed was very uncomfortable and the pillows literally went flat as soon as we laid our heads on them. TV was hard to work at first but my hisband finally got it. We spent our 20th wedding anniversary there and didnt even leav our room till check out. It was nice to have a couch in the room so we could sit somewhere other than a bed to eat and play games.

Parking was free and close to room, needed key card to access other doors

Pros - rooms were relatively clean, fridge/AC/wifi were working, there was hot water, breakfast is included

Cons - water pressure sucked, lobby had an unpleasant smell walking in and elevators were so slow bc out of the two were out of service our entire stay, the breakfast was always out of something every day, housekeeping is not standard and you have to ask for it (we had to call front desk just to ask for more toilet paper for a 4 night stay, come on..) though they did come in to replace the towels once during our stay - but staying at a hotel means you shouldn’t have to even think about these things.

Overall, you get what you pay for, so if you just need an affordable place to stay I guess this will do, but keep your expectations really low…

Great location, Smash Park in the same parking lot and Jordan Creek Mall and a Wlamart right across the street basically. It's a very busy property, very clean throughout the building. Have stayed her for more than one youth sports tournament.

We have never experienced this with any other Hyatt stay, but we were informed at checkin that housekeeping was on request only. So I did request housekeeping, as we are a family of 5 and need the room cleaned up, towels and tp restocked, etc, on a regular basis. Despite multiple requests (calling down and going to the front desk) we did not receive housekeeping services one time on a 3 night stay, and generally a lack of service from the staff, one even suggesting I bring our trash down myself since housekeeping hadn't come by yet. Very disappointing experience.

Therevwas am odor in the room that was horrific. I was having back spasms and asked for ibuprofen upon check in. She said they had some, left, came back and said they didn't have any. I would have changed rooms but could hardly walk so we stayed. Would never stay here again

Excellent location. Staff is very helpful. The rooms are very nice and very clean. Everything is working as it should. The pool looked very inviting.

We love the Hyatt and stay every year for wrestling tournaments. It has great access to Smash Park, surrounding stores and restaurants.

Nice hotel with friendly staff. Our room was clean and neat. Nice selection of hot and cold options for breakfast included. There is a small bar with a limited menu right off the lobby. This was convenient as the weather was poor and we didn't want to leave for dinner. Our only complaint was that they were out of several items listed on the menu, so we had to alter our original choices,

Good location, quiet, comfortable, staff was polite. Good lobby for gathering. Good breakfast. Room was clean. Only wish there was a hot tub but definitely not a deal breaker and would stay again.

Quick check in and courteous staff. Room was great with seating area and very clean. The bathroom was spacious and well equipped. Great blackout shades and slept past breakfast!

Always a wonderful stay at this hotel. It's a clean hotel with comfortable beds, a nice gym, and a stellar breakfast with great plant-based options (oatmeal and lots of toppings, fresh berries to put on top, fresh melon, and oat milk). This is one of our go-to hotels along our biannual cross-country route.

Great locations and staff. Beds were comfy, rooms super clean, great breakfast, amazing staff. They brought me extra pillows at 11 pm at night (I have a recent injury), let us have early check in so I could come sleep after my red eye, and provided a late check out. They were just so accommodating and kind!

The room was your typical Hyatt Place with a bed that was way too soft for comfort. The breakfast was sub par with not much selection. The absolute worst thing was that the water in the shower never got warmer than luke warm—completely unacceptable. The front desk clerk didn’t seem alarmed by this when I told her about it when we checked out. Would I stay here again, probably not nor could I recommend it to friends.

This our second time staying at this hotel and it did not disappoint. The staff are always friendly and the room was clean. The breakfast was fresh and full of many items to choose from. If you’re in the West Des Moines area, this is a great hotel to stay at.

Our room smelled like raw sewage. My sister booked a double room and they were very rude in saying even though she paid extra for a double they aren’t guaranteed. She ended up in a suite but it still only had one bed. My brother and his wife had multiple attempts of people coming into their room, tv turning on in the middle of the night. Front desk said when they finally called to inquire about why they kept checking out their room “sometimes the system just does that”
No apologies were offered for the multiple bad experiences.

Would stay again.

Nice place with amenities, and space our group needed. The bar , pool and fitness center all looked fun.
Property was clean, and staff were very friendly.
