Great stay in downtown Vancouver.
Pros:

This property was a delight. It was so well located we could walk everywhere. While it was older it had a certain charm. We were very happy with our room and while there was a certain amount of street noise, within the building it was quiet.

Cons:

The only thing that was lacking was a microwave although there were so many restaurants around perhaps it is not necessary.

Good Value and Good Location
Pros:

The room was clean, spacious and very quiet. I had a good night's sleep on a comfortable bed. I like that the hotel is right next to a Cora restaurant - it's handy for an early breakfast.

Friendly staff and great location. Rooms were very clean and a good size. Close to shops and restaurants.

Great location for both sightseeing and business
Pros:

The hotel is right on Robson Street, surrounded by shops and affordable international restaurants. It’s well connected — bus stop right outside and train station nearby — and just a 15-minute waterfront walk to the convention center. The front desk staff were very friendly and lent me an umbrella for my entire stay, which was a lovely touch.

Cons:

The elevator was out of service due to renovations, which was inconvenient. The room had a fridge but no electric kettle.

J'ai apprécié mon séjour à l'hôtel Barclay et j'y retournerai si l'occasion se présente.
Pros:

Studio spacieux, propre, avec bonne literie et sans nuisances sonores (malgré des travaux de réfection en cours). Emplacement à 20 minutes à pied du centre de congrès. Personnel agréable. Petit frigo disponible dans le studio, ce qui est très appréciable.

Cons:

L'éclairage de la chambre n'est pas suffisant à mon goût, j'aurais préféré des ampoules plus puissantes au plafond.
Si possible, prévoir une petite lampe sur le bureau, ce serait un grand plus.
Idéalement, disposer d'une petite cafetière dans la chambre serait appréciable.

It was okay
Pros:

The cleaning staff were absolutely amazing!

Cons:

Didn’t like that they wouldn’t let us listen to music in the early afternoon that wasn’t even loud. Was a bit frustrating.
Also didn’t like that there is no elevator.

Pros:

The room was spacious, it was in a good location and the twin double beds (appreciated as travelling with my adult son) were comfortable.

Cons:

It smelled strongly of cigarettes. We aired the room out which helped a lot.

Pros:

I’ve been coming to the Barclay for 35 years it is my home away from home .The staff makes it so and I always have the nicest catch up chat with concierge Bob!

After 35 years I’m having a hard time with the European flavour dissappearin* big by big from this elegant little hotel..sometimes progress doesn’t look like progress.
