全体的にメンテナンスがされてなく古い感じ。
バルコニーに出る扉は開けずらい。別途脇の物置は壊れかけで斜めになっておりスマートフォンなどを置くと滑り落ちる。
ベットの寝心地は問題ない。シートは清潔感ある。
共用エリアにソファーが置いてあったり、くつろげる。
公共エリアのテラスに椅子と灰皿、コンセントがあり景色を楽しみながらゆっくりするなど過ごすには良いと思う

old hotel with old facilities. very limited breakfast.

Wifi is only available in the lobby, hotel condition is quite run down and very near to the loud speaker of the mosque.....not ideal for a light sleeper. However, the breakfast is good and the staff is friendly too. In general, the hotel is pretty clean too and very near many of the main attractions in Bukittinggi.

Hotel bersih, makan pagi cukup, staf ramah, dekat kota @ permandangan bagus.
Suara mesjid SANGAT ribut, tak ada fasilitas, @Wi Fi di lobi saja.

Happened to be in Bukittinggi over a long weekend so heavily booked. This hotel was one of only a few available online.
Booked through Expedia when I usually use Booking.com @ confirmed why I use Booking.com as reservation not recorded. Staff accommodating considering early morning arrival. As noted in another review, near the road is very busy.
Next day VERY helpful staff moved me to a room facing the mosque, which is very noisy early morn @ evening. Not as bad as continual noise from road!
No extras in room. Does have toiletries. Does get hot in Bukittinggi so a fan would've helped. Breakfast ok. No lunch or dinner although staff organised an omelette for lunch as I was very tired after overnight drive @ early artival in hotel.
Speaking of staff, they are SO helpful. Room etc always clean.
Probably not my pick if had other choices. Turned out well for 4 nights.

Benteng hotel is very old hotel, but nicely it was closer to any places in Padang such as Jam Gadang and Panorama. Breakfast was good but for me terrible things was just the rooms is like very old no maintenance. Wifi is only available in the lobby.

Positive: good bed, soft pillows, good shower pressure, nice location: quiet at night, friendly staff, good wifi only in lobby, indonesia breakfast is good

Deserves attention: european breakfast is very basic, no wifi in room, rooms are quite old.

Nice staff speaking moderate English. Room was good with balcony but, didn't smell to fresh. Good wifi but only in the Lobby. Breakfast was good, they even made us a special Indonesian breakfast when we asked for it.

The only reason we stay in this hotel is because i've read it somewhere tat the location were nice and its cheap! For the price i've paid, it is worth it because the room were very spacious and quite nice except...it got no carpet!! The place itself were cold especially at night, and the tiles make it worst. The location was ok since it is situated above the hills, but theres not much activities or stall happening up there. Only one nasi-padang restaurant which you'll grew tired after 2 days. The room itself were clean but it smells of cockroaches and dust sometimes. The bfast was ok, but the dining hall was old and smells dust. Overall, the hotel was worth the price you pay and ita not THAT bad..and you can only get hotel of this calibre and design only in indonesia. So, it worth a try once..

Apart from the marvellous view over the city of Bukittinggi, this is not a choice hotel, it is very basic and has no attractive features. The breakfasts were so poor we went out after the first morning to the Canyon Cafe where the breakfast is freshly made. The Benteng is to be avoided especially at week-ends when coach loads of trippers arrive and the coaches are stationed with the engines running under the bedroom windows, the guests in these bedrooms have exhaust fumes filling the room, our friends moved out of the hotel because of this. The double beds were made up with single sheets stretched across which was original but not very comfortable. We would go elsewhere if we ever went back to Bukittinggi.
