It is a wonderful place to observe bird migration. Our reserve has a large group of more than 2709 species of birds that have been recorded around the area.
We also have great cycling routes such as Winchelsea & Rye Harbor Nature Reserve loop and Pett Level Road loop from Winchelsea. On the way you will see historic landmarks and great countryside views. If you don’t have a bike and wanted to try something different. We have our own electric e-bikes which we can hire out to you for a day etc. We also have free onside bike storage to lock your bicycles up at night securely and CCTV on site with facilities to charge your own E-bike.Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation.

Good value, rate included extensive breakfast, easy to park, easy check in, friendly and attentive staff
Some of the fittings in the bathroom a bit tired, but not a great drama. Bin in the room a bit small!
Breakfast was perfectly satisfactory without being exceptional. The poached eggs were perfect, the scrambled egg less so. Dinner on our first night was absolutely fine but didn’t enjoy the second night quite so much.
The room was small but otherwise fine. The cold tap didn’t run very fast. The bed could have done with a thicker duvet.
One of the cupboard doors was difficult to open (room 3G). The shower was a bit weak. But we had a comfortable stay.

Not much really, it has gone downhill.
Lock on the restaurant toilet door in the Gents was broken, the Television in our room was not very responsive the remote was all taped up. The window was cracked outside our room and in the car park all rubbish bumped old toilets etc.
Breakfast was very good.

Seems churlish to list, but being absolutely accurate and very picky. . .
Mattress was memory foam which made it almost impossible to move about on it - would expect it be hot in the summer.
TV was extremely slow to react to remote.
Heating was also extremely slow to react to remote.
Breakfast was strange - main breakfast was pre-ordered and great - other items were offered piecemeal with no overall view of what else was coming.
And one concern.
I reported that the shower floor was slippery when wet and met with complete indifference.

Breakfast, although no labels to tell you what flavours the fruit drinks are. The approach and outside areas very nice. Near to Pett Level Rye and Winchelsea, the bar/ restaurant very nice.
No instructions how to use the shower to get warm water and without flooding the bathroom. Drawers in bedroom poor state of repair.
Staff were very friendly on arrival and very accommodating when we asked to keep our room another night. Excellent breakfast.
Room was not cleaned after our first night even though we paid the same rate.
staff were fantastic. the young girl who worked there exceeded her work ethics and very friendly. the young guy/waiter who took our order for dinner one night was also exceptional. he came back to our table asking can he help us with anything else. was all good with the food?? the owner must be training them very well or they just have good work ethics.
