Great value hotel in Dubrovnik
Pros:

This is in a great location if you want to explore Dubrovnik on a budget. Yes the rooms are small, yes they need updating and yes the breakfast could be better. But it is adequate and a great price and location. It is set in a small garden by a pedestrian way that leads down to a great beach. There are lots of eating places nearby.

A bus to Dubrovnik town stops just round the corner. It runs every 15 minutes or so and is cheap. A word of warning - it takes a slightly different route on the way back. Be patient it will stop by the hotel.

It charmed us, but I don't disagree with Lori Z that it needs updating
Pros:

Something about the sheer look of the hotel, it's relaxed charm and the decor appealed to us. It is not near the famous downtown, but it is on a pedestrian walk to the harbour and 20m from the bus downtown (buy tickets at the kiosk at the bus stop and they cost hardly anything). No elevator AND stairs even to reception (no rooms on ground floor so this is not for seniors). I found the room welcoming and pretty, but I could see that the furnishing level was not high level, but for us it worked. Don't expect glamour, but true older style, not glammed up but friendly and welcoming. PS the restaurants in the area are price-gouge, but the doner at the fast food section of one of them was execptional!

Hotel Zagreb Needs Updating
Pros:

The reviews for this hotel are somewhat misleading, as the hotel is really quite dated in the decor, furnishings and appliances. I chose the hotel based on the generally favorable TA reviews, and was disappointed when I saw the rooms. Would have switched to another hotel if we were staying longer than 2 nights. In the end it was OK, but certainly not beyond a 3 star. The hotel and equipment is perfectly functional, except there is no elevator. We were fortunate to get 2 rooms on first floor. Final room was on top 3rd floor and quite a climb with luggage. Ceilings in it were low and had the feel of a hostel. From other reviews, it sounds like some rooms are nicer with balconies etc. Ours were quite small. Color scheme was a drab brown, with furnishings and feel like it was out of the 1950s. Hotel was clean, beds were ok on comfort, staff was very gracious and helpful. The front porch was best feature. The breakfast wasn’t great. They had some fresh fruit and small croissants, but the rest was not very interesting or appetizing. The location is quite good, with lots of restaurants, and just short walk to beach and a beautiful Oceanside promenade which leads to several much nicer (and more expensive) hotels. It is an easy, short bus ride to Old City. It served our purpose and was a good experience overall in the end once we adjusted our expectations. But it really does need a facelift and update.

Expensive for what you get
Pros:

Nothing really wrong, but we've had far better for the price. Very helpful reception staff. Room a bit small, but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was 'ok' but nothing more. It's right by a pedestrian area with lots of bars and restaurants, which can be a plus, but also means it's a bit noisy at night. Just feel there must be better for the price

Nice Hotel in great location
Pros:

We found this hotel to have a very nice ambience with its attractive heritage building surrounded by pleasant gardens.
Our room was a balcony room at the front of the hotel. It was a very good size and extremely comfortable, though probably about due for a renovation.
The location is excellent, close to beaches and situated in a pedestrianised area wirh plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby. The Old Town is a short bus ride away.
One drawback of being in such a busy area however was that we were kept awake by the noise coming from nearby restaurants and bars (we were there on friday and saturday nights so it might be quieter during the week).
Overall a nice hotel with pleasant staff.

Awfully loud!!! Noise level like Croatia won the World Cup!
Pros:

We stayed two nights. Sunday and Monday night. Our room was facing the back side of the hotel. Our stay wasn’t very pleasant unfortunately! There is a bar nearby the hotel with people constantly singing till 2.30 am - which made it impossible to sleep. The noise level was way beyond the normal nightlife / bar noise level, it sounded more like Croatia actually just won the Football World Cup! The first night we thought it was some birthday party we had to endure, so just bad luck but the second night was even worse. Unfortunately our window was not closing properly which made the whole thing even worse! The breakfast was also pretty disappointing and the bed was fairly uncomfortable.

Great location & service
Pros:

A lovely hotel in a lush garden setting. We had a room for 4 which was comfortable but a bit small, but perfectly ok for a couple of days. A great breakfast was included. Step outside to an array of bars and restaurants and a 5 min walk to Sunset beach. A big thank you to Petra who went out of her way to help us carry our luggage up 4 floors and booking restaurants. Petra was very courteous and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

A lovely stay
Pros:

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Zagreb. When staying at Hotel Zagreb we had two twin rooms, which were nice and whilst not the most luxury 5 star hotel they were perfectly adequate and gave us plenty of room even though we had many suitcases.

The Hotel is situated in the Lapad area which is about an 8 minute bus or 5 minute taxi (about 70 kora) from the Old Town. This means that it is much quieter than the Old Town and gives it a far more relaxed atmosphere and vibe. Around the Hotel there are many restaurants and bars, with the beach only a 3 minute walk away.

The staff at the hotel were excellent and very helpful, particularly the receptionist who gave us honest recommendations on where to eat, drink and change money which are very important when you are new to the area. The hotel has a bar and a restaurant, and whilst we did not eat at the restaurant it was nice to have a drink at the bar which is in the hotel garden before we went out for something else to eat.

It was also really helpful that breakfast was included in our room deal. The breakfast was perfectly good with a variety of food types and juices etc.

The hotel doesn't have any amazing facilities, but to be honest in the area there is definitely enough with the beach so close and there is a tennis centre next to the hotel. I would say there is no need and anything you need is very accessible.

Overall I would really recommend anyone to stay here, there is everything you need and it is nice for a short stay.

Great Hotel with a short walk to the beach.
Pros:

This hotel is located in a great location in Dubrovnik. Great customer services. Very friendly staff regardless of the time of day or evening. Comfortable beds to relax after a day of exploring Dubrovnik. The bus stop in front of the hotel with a short 5 min. ride. Delicious breakfast with plenty to choose from. The garden is a great place to relax in the evenings after a dinner at on the many restaurants in the area. Very safe area where you can walk at any time of the day. Would not think twice of staying here.

Nice stay
Pros:

Nice hotel, very well located at Lapad, in a road with no traffic. The hotel has a nice garden, the staff are friendly and the breakfast was good. There are a lot of restaurants near the hotel, and also a beautiful beach and a great promenade with astonishing seaviews. Lapad is a good place for staying in Dubrovnik. The hotel had a very good quality-price relation.

Good Hotel
Pros:

Clean and tidy facilities with friendly staff.
Nice garden area. Handy to bus that takes you to the old town and a short walk to the beach. They offer airport transfers that are cheaper than a standard taxi fare. Plenty of restaurants are close

Good hotel close to Dubrovnik old town
Pros:

The hotel is in Lapad which is a short bus ride away from the old town, Dubrovnik.
We did not have dinner at the hotel, but breakfasts were good. Staff are friendly and the hotel is well placed for the bars and restaurants of Lapad. There is also a supermarket close by.
Our room was clean and spacious enough for our needs.
The hotel sits in lovely gardens where you can relax away from the hustle and bustle of the street (pedestrians only) outside.

Lovely
Pros:

We ended up staying here after cancelling a stay at another hotel. Thankfully they could accommodate us at very short notice (we booked through Booking dot com).
The receptionist was lovely, so friendly and welcoming.

The air con worked very well indeed but the hotel room window had shutters and opening windows so you could ventilate the room or keep it dark and cool. The room itself was very basic with a small bathroom but it was clean and we were just happy to have found it at short notice.

Breakfast was limited but it was decent. Lovely pastries. Some cute little cats that sit looking up longingly at you, hoping for a few scraps. They got lots from me!!

The area where the local is located is just lovely. Leafy and green, family orientated and lots of bars and restaurants to choose from. There’s a beach and plenty going on. We really loved the vibe of the area and if we went there again, would probably choose this hotel.

A bus goes 5 minutes walk from the hotel and goes to the Old Town, so we used that one day. The bus was horrifically busy but was worth it with what you see in the Old Town when you get there.

Pantarul restaurant nearby was AMAZING!!!! But book up because it gets incredible reviews and is therefore very busy every night. Madonna restaurant was also nearby and we had a good meal there too. The Cave Bar at Hotel More was wonderful too.

My wife, 5 other friends and I stayed two night here during our touring at Dubrovnik. This hotel is very nice and located at good location to walk around. The receptionist was friendly,as well as the waitress in the dinning room.
Our room was clean and spacey. The toilet is clean. The wifi worked well. The breakfast was classical continental. We were happy to recommend this hotel.

Pros:

Excellent 3star hotel. Breakfast was very good.
I had a nice balcony. This is the most beautiful palm garden in Dubrovnik.
If you want to eat good food for normal prices there is a restaurant in hotel.

Delightful stay with great service
Pros:

I enjoyed my 3 night stay here very much-as I came up the path I was saluted and then welcomed by an older gentleman who offered to carry my bag. I knew then that this would not be your typical hotel experience. Even though I just had a small single room on the third floor with a teeny shower that was a challenge to climb in and out of and there was no elevator, it was my favourite place to stay on my trip around Europe.Tthe staff were so wonderful that I kind of felt welcomed and treated like family. They had great food-such fresh croissants for breakfast as I have never eaten before.I am sure they must have been baked fresh onsite that morning. I ate 3 breakfasts and 3 dinners at the hotel-the food was freshly prepared and more than I could eat. They have very reasonably priced dinner specials each night and the women who served me at every meal was delightful.Even though I visited very close to the end of the season when they would soon be closing the staff were terrific.Lovely location too- in Lapad away from the crowds of Old Town Dubrovnik. The gentleman at the front desk arranged a private driver to take me to the airport as I had an early departure and also arranged a day trip to Montenegro for me.The business manager was kind enough to print off my boarding pass that I emailed to her. Two mornings in a row the breakfast room was opened a few minutes early for me as I was leaving early both days. The whole staff went above and beyond in service and hospitality and I have travelled widely. Thank you Hotel Zagreb for making my stay so special-I hope to be back some day!

No need to stay in walled city!
Pros:

Great location, beach very close by, along a promenade with bars and restaurants. About a half hour walk to walled city but a beautiful walk, taxis and buses easily accessible. Very friendly and helpful staff, great food.
