Looks exactly like the pictures - beautiful gardens and views. Many corners and nooks with seating or hammocks to relax.
Staff was very attentive and carried our luggage from the dock to the room (there are many many steep steps).
The room and shared bathroom were clean and comfortable.
The food was average at best and expensive. Better options in Jaibalito (10min walk).
Payment only possible in Quetzales or US dollars - no card payment! 10% gratuity is added to the final bill as well.
It does look like the pictures and the staff is nice.
The price for one night is a bit expensive for what it is. I had a twin bedroom with a shared bathroom. And having to queue for the bathroom at that price is just not right.
I did not like the fact that I had to pause at every stairs on the way to my room because some Instagram girlies were blocking the way to take some photos. It's at every corner of the hotel. It feels like a set for influencers. The "day pass" people were annoying with their photos and videos all the time.
I was really appalled by the "mandatory tip" at the restaurant, that was not mentionned prior. 10% of your bill is added to the total. I have never seen that before in Guatemala. This is clearly an over charge inspired by the US. As a French, I hate it.
I also did not like the fact that they had their own exchange rate at the hotel written on a piece of paper. Just screams "scam" to me. But maybe that's just me...
Everything!
Nothing
This location is absolutely spectacular. Lots of areas to relax in beautiful views of the volcanoes and absolute must do.
Unfortunately, I found the beds quite uncomfortable and the fact that they don’t take credit card was annoying.
