The rooms are small perfect for a couple. Very cozy the parking is inside the gate. Breakfast was delicious. Clean and friendly. Would definitely stay there again.
This property is a great alternative to local hotels.
Nice place, and close of everything!
The reserved room was delivered to another guest, the hotel needs to take care of details of maintenance and amenities. They do not accept payment by credit card and do not deliver receipt of payment
Pros:
-Very clean
-Helpful staff
-Quiet at night
-comfortable bed
-Good homemade complimentary breakfast
-Google maps will get you there by hotel name
-friendly beagles
Cons:
-expensive
-slow WiFi
-Inconvenient location
-not every room has a fridge
-shower was terrible in my standard single room. The curtain was not water proof. It was extremely small. Nozzle position was not adjustable, and was falling off the wall (sprayed me face and all over the room the first time I turned it on). The drain barely worked.
-The listing didn’t mention its many (and sometimes silly) rules, including no alcohol on the premise.
-listing didn’t mention that they only accept cash or paypal
-no access to kitchen
-not a friendly or communal vibe
-while its in a nice neighborhood, the streets were pretty busy and often lacked sidewalks
We traveled 2 . 5 hours to get there, only to be told that one of the two rooms we had rented was NOT available anymore.
What good does it do to make reservations if the hotel gives your room away to someone else?
Nice, clean, secure place to stay
I arrived at the hotel, and although this app says that it accepts cards, the hotel only accept cash. I had to pay in cash, now I am scared I might get double charged (card stored in this app + the cash I paid)
By far the worst hotel experience of my life, as I arrived to check in with my boyfriend we tried to pay with a credit card and found out this to be the only hotel nowadays that doesn't take credit cards. We had to go out in the rain to find the nearest ATM...came back pay the room, the hotel owner didn't have change(how is it possible for a hotel that only charges in cash, to not have change???) So we told the owner to give us the change in the morning.
A friend of mine had to come to the hotel, the we will go out, we asked the owner if there was an the extra charge and advise him that she was not staying... He responded there is no extra charge if she is not staying, cool.
At 22:45 someone knocked on my door... Again the owner, just to tell me that we need to turn off the TV(the TV was at the normal volume) it's fine we turn the TV off.
At 23:30 the owner knocked again to say that my friend had to leave, my friend left... But what's funny is that while doing the check out, the owner charged us for an extra person that he personally kicked out of the hotel...I'm speechless, I will never go back there or will recommend this hotel.
Good for a two day stay. Family run business. Full breakfast included. Fine menu choice. The room was very clean and neat. Room Wi- Fi was available. Good security for car (locked area) . Residential street with some traffic noise. Great price.
It all started when I arrived to the hotel and it was CLOSED I arrived shortly after the check-in time, I had to wait outside for a really long time until I finally was able to contact them and they said someone would arrive in about 20 min! The hotel is located on a steep hill within a residential area and although restaurants are relatively close, they are not precisely at a walking distance and not easily found in the maze like location. I went to for a coffee and when I finally came back the woman at the front desk, the owner, was just appallingly disrespectful, because I said she could be more empathetic for the whole closed hotel situation. That is really the least one could expect. She had an overall condescending attitude and even suggested I should leave! (I was not even requesting any sort of economic compensation, not that this would have mattered). Unfortunately I was so exhausted and had no way to communicate with my boyfriend who was coming later that night so I had to stay. Overall the rooms were ok, but I truly wouldn't recommend this place
The Deam House is beautiful and well located close to the biggest shopping mall in San Jose, and very close to the city center. The room was beautifully decorated and furnished, the lobby is amazing and very welcoming, the owners are nice and pleasant people, the breakfast was very good.
A little tough to find (small sign at the driveway) but ring the bell and the gate slides open to reveal a charming, breezy, clean and pretty hotel. Our room had a huge balcony with several lounge chairs and small table. Inside, we had a spacious room with a refrigerator, wardrobe, desk, side table and very comfortable bed.
Despite a mandatory, rush hour cab rate from the airport ($39), Dream House has its positive's, the least of which is Renzo's helpfulness. Renzo is a new owner (August) intent on making improvements, (bathroom mirrors were installed during my stay.) The site, a relatively quiet, upscale neighborhood of San Jose. Unfortunately, an $8-$10 cab ride to and from Centro. There are two good restaurants within walking distance. Breakfast is a treat, upscale with good choices and a pleasant, outdoor eating area. The ambiance and architecture of the place is attractive, a kind of art-deco touch. Extremely good value.
The hotel met all the requirements I was looking for. It's quite, nice building, the room was clean, hot water, the staff was pretty kind, free internet, free parking and the breakfast was great, a lot of tasty food!
Things to improve:
-Need to put a better sign in the entrance and more light, because during the night if it's your first time it's bit hard to find it.
-There is no air conditioning, just a fan and a small window... so it would be a nice to have, but not indispensable.
We took two hours for location nobody know this Hotel, terrible!!!!!!!
It was my first time in Costa Rica and someone reccommended this location. It is a nice quaint home family owned by a nice family. They were very nice and helpful and each morning provided a tasty breakfast. It was very very quiet as I was used to some noise, however I felt safe and secure each night. It is close to some bars and restaurants, I stayed two nights before going to Jaco beach which is two hours away. I had a nice stay the only issue was the internet connection was a little inconsistent here and there and was mostly stronger on the bottom floor. I would reccommend this spot if you need a nice affordable room to sleep and you will be out during the day.
Dream House is run by a loving couple who go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. Breakfast is delicious and the ambience is cozy and welcoming. Beautiful view off the terrace is a treat. I enjoyed my stay very much.
A quite hotel in upscale neighborhood of Escazu close to supermarkets, Walmart and restaurants. A well suited hotel especially for families.
The owners were kind, friendly & went out of their way to be helpful to make sure all of my needs were met! THANK YOU!!
