Beautiful grounds. The restaurant Harrys had yummy food. Stayed in the Lodge. The room was underwhelming, bathroom was not cleaned. Hair in the tiny shower, pretty gross. The buildings are in disrepair.
We wanted a quick peaceful get away from our home in the Washington, D.C. area. Airlie was the perfect place to visit. We walked the extensive grounds, appreciated the hotels commitment to sustainable practices, and were thrilled by the fireflies that performed for us on Saturday night!
The top golf was closed when I visited. 😢Extreme comfort, elegance, and rich abundance. Gourmet food!!!!!!!!!! Had a great time
The customer service at the Airlie was terrible. Checked in at 2 pm let the staff know the AC was not working in our room (it was July 4th 2026, 105 degrees outside). Let them know that it wasn’t working at 4, then 5 then 10pm. They finally decided to move us at 12:30AM when I asked for a refund because we were leaving. Then magically, “oh we have plenty of inventory, just move them”. I had two reservations, one for me and one for my daughter. So they deactivated all the keys since I was switching rooms. I had to wait for someone to open the door to my room so I could grab my things. My daughter had to walk back to the front desk to get new keys (it’s a big property and a long walk at 1AM). We didn't setting into our new room until 1:35AM. I just keep hearing I don't have the authority, it’s not my job.
No body called us at any point to give us updates. They just looked past you as they listed to you tell them about the issues you were experiencing.
The customer service was terrible. Everyone needs training.
Harry’s restaurant was ok. After we paid our bill and tipped the bartender he informed us that he doesnt get those tips and he pulled out a QR code asking us to please tip him through that. Makes me wonder who got my first $20 tip. People in my party felt bad and TIPPED AGAIN. $40 on a $100 tab. We went back to Harrys after the wedding and brought a bottle of wine 2021 reserve, I spit it out. The cheapest wine at 7-11 tastes better, I know cause I’ve tried it.
We got married at Airlie in June 2025, loved our experience and how beautiful the grounds were. Due to the wedding we weren’t able to explore much, but we can back for our one year anniversary and explored the reservation. Absolutely gorgeous! Look forward to next year.
Just the natural beauty!! The ponds, the swans, the greenery!
Parking… no parking at the restaurant & not enough parking near our room.
Never again, Small rooms with funny smell, feeling like somebody's finished basement, weird corridors and creaking steps. Drunks screaming in the middle of the night of having a fight or whatever.
The land.
Rooms are small, stuffy and smelly. HVAC unit works well, but its very noisy.
Experience absolutely not worth the high price. Hotel in Paris, France was cheaper and much, much nicer. This room felt like somebody's finished basement.
We talked to other guests and all.of them were disappointed with their rooms.
It was a fantastic location for a wedding! Very beautiful and wonderful that everything was in one place! The added amenities made it a great stay!
We spent the weekend at Airlie attending local events and celebrating our wedding anniversary. The accommodations were very nice and we enjoyed walking the beautiful grounds even with the rainy weather.
The scenery of absolutely beautiful. I enjoyed the peaceful walks and the availability of the bikes. Most of all, the customer service was top notch and Bailey deserves a special shout out. I had trouble with a 3rd party reservation service and Bailey was there with me every step of the way. Every time I needed anything during my stay, everyone was accommodating. Thank you, Bailey, and the staff of Harry’s and the Airlie hotel.
We were visiting our family during the Easter weekend. I have been here several times prior with my local family including the Easter and Mother’s Day Brunches, when we did enjoy our dining experiences in the past. I reserved the 12 PM Sunday Easter Lunch this year for my family of nine for $890.40, including seven adults and two elementary school children or a total of nine. It was raining quite heavily during our drive down. Luckily when we arrived a little before noon the rain had changed to a light drizzle. Needless to say the weather was not good on Easter Sunday. We parked our vehicle. The atrium was a short walk from the parking lot.
When we checked into the atrium entrance we were immediately directed to our table for nine. Luckily they had some coat racks so we could hang our rain gear. The bar was set up outside the pavilion. Six fluted champagne drinks paired with peach, pear and pomegranate were available for $12 each. I enjoyed my two glasses of Roget champagne for $12 each. Complimentary canned carbonated drinks were provided to our two elementary school children. The prime rib was decent, but the lollipop lamb chops were too tough. My other family members also complained about the tough lollipop lamb chops. I only ate one. I enjoyed the snow crab claws the most. My cupcake and small mousse were acceptable. We departed before the next 2 PM lunch reservations arrived. The restrooms are located outside of the atrium up a staircase, which was not convenient. Overall our family of nine and I did not think that this Easter Day lunch was not worth $100 per person excluding alcohol. We will not return here for either Easter or Mother’s Day brunch/lunch in the future. Also because of the poor rainy weather an egg hunt was not included. I found another yelper Brandon, who attended the same lunch as my family. Brandon immediately posted a 1 star negative yelp review. Please read it for another customer’s perspective of the same event. I found that reviews ranged from 1 to 5 stars so this place is not consistent in ratings. The variation in ratings seems to be due to whether you attended only a conference/housing event or other non-housing event such as Easter Brunch/Lunch. You can judge for yourself by reading all reviews and deciding if you want to visit here for an event. Don’t get me wrong, but the natural grounds and pond here are quite nice. That is worth your visit. My review is mainly regarding the Sunday Easter Lunch.
The Airlie was such a wonderful experience. The grounds are beautifully kept and peaceful to walk through. The rooms were clean and airy, and the staff was wonderful to talk to about the grounds and other event information (especially ours). The Airlie is a steward of conservation and sustainability. They use fallen trees and branches for their firepits and fireplaces, grow their own vegetables, and source locally, which I particularly enjoyed. Nothing tastes as good as food homegrown.
There are free bikes that guests can ride around the property, with bike stations to return after use. Going down the hill from some of the guest houses really got the adrenaline going! Very fun!
There is a sound curfew after 10 so please be aware and respectful towards other guests staying.
Great staff and beautiful grounds! The food was fabulous during our conference! And, after the conference, we really enjoyed burgers at Harry's! Definitely a wonderful place to stay for business or leisure!
The wedding and reception were beautiful. The noise from the people upstairs was totally unacceptable, and it happened on both nights of our stay. I reported it multiple times, and security was actually at our room when they were making noise. It sounded like they were moving furniture across the room.
