Spacious, clean and well-kept hotel on Duke’s campus. I’ve traveled a lot this summer, stayed at Hiltons, Tapestry hotels, Marriott chains. The Jv exceeded them all. There are some quirks (I wandered 10 min trying to find the fitness center) and the cleaning supplies do leave a cologne smell in the room, but I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. The lobby dining and breakfast offered were wonderful.

We loved the facilities and staff. We don’t get to the gym but the modernity. Style and size of the hotel and rooms exceeded our expectations.
If you got to go to Duke EDU Hospital stay here their shuttle service is great!

I booked this hotel as it was a conference hotel for a meeting at Duke. However, I would definitely book again for future trips to the area. The rooms are large and really well appointed. In the future, I would ask for a higher floor room that does not face the parking lot. However, that was a small issue as I was out most of the day at my conference. The perks of this hotel including a robe and slippers in the room, sparkling water at the water station and a really nice pool and gym are all worth coming back to. Additionally, it is basically on Duke's campus so for anyone who wants to visit parts of Duke including the gardens, it is very well situated. I did not drive but I know they have valet parking.

The JB Duke Hotel is located on the beautiful campus of Duke University. It is modern with an open concept entrance area where staff will greet you with a smile. Our room was beautiful--so spacious, clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed the wet bar/kitchen area with the assortment of glasses and a water carafe and the separate sitting area. A great place for a short or long-term stay. We will be back again!!

The location was picturesque and quiet with no traffic noise. The atmosphere on the Duke University campus was superior. The room was clean and comfortable with excellent amenities. The JB Duke Hotel was a quite a surprise and lived up to the online advertisement!
I stayed at JB Duke for 4 nights in May 2026 for a conference at Duke University. The property is within the campus, and most convenient to access the university. Infact, they have a bridge that connects the hotel to Duke Fuqua (where we had the conference). It was most convenient!!
My room at Level 4 overlooked the forest, and was clean and comfortable. It was serviced daily. I enjoyed their room service breakfast as well
I really appreciated that they provided a glass jar to be filled at their water station, instead of plastic water bottles. Also, their bath robe is a delight to use!
Overall, a good stay!
