Have stayed here before and found the experience very enjoyable. Good sized rooms and close to where I work in the square mile. This time it was nothing short of awful though. First room I had stank to high heaven of either cleaning chemicals or perfume that had been sprayed throughout the room to the point where it was hard to breathe. I put the air con on hoping to circulate the air as no windows could be opened but when I returned after dinner the smell was even worse so I changed rooms which was a bit of a hassle at 11pm but got it done. The second room was a disabled room and the wet room/toilet had been tiled as such so that the drain for the wet room didn't work properly which flooded the entire bathroom as they hadn't put the required fall in properly for the drain to work. You could tell the room had been flooded into the bedroom before as the floorboards were beginning to bow albeit I did avoid getting the bedroom wet by using all the towels across the whole bathroom floor but it was still unpleasant to say the least. To be greeted by a shrug of shoulders from the reception on check out was pretty disappointing to say the least as I was expecting some form of credit on my account but nothing at all was offered which seemed very poor on their part. Unlikely to be back unless Locke can make this good.
Poor quality, not enough staff and offering to serve a decent breakfast in an acceptable time. Furniture is quite basic and poor. Cleaning not great, soup was also finished. A lot to be invested to make it good enough

Hotel itself is very tired, needs a good refresh. Has great potential as very stylish, just a bit worse for wear.

One lift was out of order. Difficult for a busy, 22 story building to rely only on one.
Very noise from 8 am. Staff dropped a bag full of glass bottles outside my door, waking me up at 8am. The whole point of paying this price point was to ensure a good sleep. I did not get that.
The bed was uncomfortable, really hard mattress.
Perfect location and great price
Great rooms, thoughtful designed and just that extra bit of space and kitchen area made feel homely not the normal hotel box!!

We loved how spacious our one-bedroom suite was! It came fully equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine, and microwave—essentially everything you could possibly need for a comfortable short-term stay
We found the walls to be paper-thin; we could hear noises from the hallway and even our own toilet from the living room quite clearly. This, combined with a loud humming in the pipes whenever the hot water was running, made for a disruptive stay. Housekeeping was essentially non-existent, as we had to collect our own fresh towels and linens from reception. Additionally, basic essentials like toiletries, kitchen towels, and tissues were not provided. Finally, keep in mind that Aldgate East station has no lifts, which makes the short walk quite difficult if you are carrying heavy luggage.

Mi hanno dato una camera non corrispondente a ciò che era scritto su Booking e il loro sito: ho preso un monolocale SKY LEVEL e c’era scritto “dal piano 19 in su”, mi hanno dato una stanza al piano 14 dicendo che gli Sky level sono dal 13 in su e sono cambiate le politiche aziendali. Quando ho chiesto di essere spostato mi hanno detto di sì ma solo il giorno dopo facendo un check-out e riportando tutti i bagagli in reception, senza poter vedere la camera nuova. Quindi la possibilità di una stanza più in alto mi è stata data ma è stata resa complessa e abbiamo deciso di lasciar perdere. In più la camera aveva odori dalla doccia/bagno molto sgradevoli e il lavandino perdeva acqua allagando mezzo bagno. Cose che per il prezzo che si va a spendere non dovrebbero succedere.
Everything was great! Bed was super comfortable, the shower was great, super clean.
The only thing that I’d say is that housekeeping should be a bit more careful with avoiding slamming doors during cleaning. I was recovering from a migraine one day and the slamming of all doors of my floor was not so good.
