Hallmark Hotel by BON Hotels

Hotel staff was very nice and helpful. Area where hotel is located isnt excatly safe for tourists but hotel has 24/7 security and easy to uber everywhere to and from the hotel.

The room and hotel was generally nice. I usually book Hallmark when I visit Joburg. This time though, we went to the bar to have drinks and requested drinks and the bartender told us she wasn’t making any drinks because it’s cold and she didn’t want to touch the ice. It was a woman with locs, she wore glasses, and she was a bit bright skinned. She argued with me and told me it was beer and premade drinks only, but then I saw others with bottles, shots, and mixed drinks. She wouldn’t have said that to older white folks walking in there for sure, but since I’m a Black American I guess she didn’t want to serve me. She offered no free drink or anything the next day either, due to her rude service. The front desk staff were nice however. We also liked our room (it had a super nice view). Experience was generally cool, except for that 1 hiccup.

Balcony doors not working. The main door to the balcony does not close or open. The door leading to the next balcony is not working or could not be closed. These concerns were raised with the hotel staff instead they denied and made it a laughing matter.

Perfect stay, hand a wonderful experience, definitely coming back again, now I’m just typing to fill up 100 characters

Stay was relaxing

The hotels are very clean. The facilities are great. The staff is friendly. I would recommend them over and over again.

I’ve got the booking in a rush, listing the best rates with the lowest price. What I found was an amazing hotel, with a huge room, very comfortable bed and pillows, top quality bed linen, a large balcony and the most friendly and helpful staff. The neighborhood is not nice, but they make sure you are always safe.

Beautiful hotel with gorgeous views but the carpets and curtains were filthy and the sheets were torn. Disappointed

Hallmark is more of a party hotel. I was looking forward to having dinner on the roof top over looking the city at sunset, but instead I was met with hookah bar with DJ loud music and a staff looking at me strangely when I asked for food. If partying is your scene, then this is the place for you. It looks like it would be a fun place to party if you did that.

Okay-ish hotel in a terrible location. Nothing modern around it.
Not really safe to walk around the area at night as the are not other shops around or nearby.

I explicitly booked this hotel because it was in the Cape Town CBD and, most importantly, the listing showed it had a swimming pool. It did not. The listing changed to remove all references to a pool within minutes of my complaint. I cancelled my booking on the spot on the promised of a full refund. Two weeks later, after many emails, providing all the information they asked for and having countered every excuse they could come up with, I have not received my refund and they are now ghosting me, leaving me with no option but to go through my credit card provider to get my money back. They are lovely to your face but complete fraudsters once you're no longer present. Absolutely shocking. Avoid.

Best service. Easy to love around your place. From the room to roof top. Elevators are fast and smooth

Hallmark House Hotel in Johannesburg excels with exceptional service and an artsy, stylish atmosphere—perfect for a unique stay!

It was a fairly nice place. The only thing is there were no irons in the hotel room, although Expedia said there would be. Basically had to share an iron with the entire hotel and call or go down and ask and wait for a while each time to get one. Which took time away from my trip. Staff were nice though, but that needs fixed.

Nice Hotel with super friendly and warm staff. Everything was clean and we felt very comfortable for our 2 day stay at the Hallmark House. The district around the hotel has a very bad reputation and therefore we only took Uber from and to the hotel.
Definitely can recommend the food und the rooftop bar!

The room was ok. The cup for coffee was stuck to the saucer from prior substance. The bathroom was very clean. Matresses are worn, the room design is great.
The hallways have holes (not on purpose) in the wall exposing plumbing. My window view was of a building 5 feet apart with broken windows and visible people in it. The location is very sketchy, Unsafe,

Was not happy how the Hallmark is doing their business as am Bonami member, but it looked like they don't know any of such, I really wish for the information to be shared amongst the employees for them to know when asked by the clients outside, I really didn't get joy initially as I anticipated or as it supposed to be done to all Bonami members.

We throughly enjoyed our stay at Hallmark House. The staff were incredibly friendly and efficient. Highly recommended. 100/10

Everyone at the Hallmark House were extremely friendly and kind. You immediately feel welcomed. The staff make you feel like you've arrived home, and you're a part of a family.
The room and bathroom were beautifully designed and very spacious! So comfortable and at the same time so stylish and very well put laid out.
The location gives you an experience that you couldn't get some airport hotel or elsewhere. For someone who isn't from S. Africa (and first time to Johannesburg), I felt like I was getting to step into a bit of history and culture and art beautifully curated and displayed.
The Marabi was magical! It was a wonderful experience alone just to talk through the space and take in all the art work and display... The food was Michelin star worthy! So fresh and delicious and creatively prepared - with interesting local touches!!
My only complain is that I didn't get to stay longer!! But I'll be back for sure!
