Stayed at The Harbour for two nights and loved it. It’s in a great spot in the old city, with loads of bars and restaurants nearby, and everything felt completely walkable — lively, but never busy or too loud. The hotel itself feels really unique (in the best way) and everything was absolutely spotless — genuinely one of the cleanest places I’ve stayed. Our rooms were lovely too: comfortable, well finished, and a really nice space to come back to after exploring.
The spa is gorgeous, and I booked a deep tissue back massage with Martha who was fabulous — friendly, professional, and made the whole experience feel like a proper treat.
We also ate in the restaurant and it was fab — great lunch, lovely cocktails, and a brilliant breakfast before we checked out. I was particularly impressed with the breakfast options: excellent cooked items as well as a really good continental buffet.
All in all, it felt like a special little stay and I’d happily return — especially if you’re after somewhere stylish, relaxing, and impeccably kept.
The bed was incredibly comfortable.
The location is horrible. The noise outside was horrendous, all night hearing thinking music, loud people shouting, bottle bins being emptied, and then at 5am, the street cleaners came.
The staff were friendly and welcoming. Couldn't fault them at all.
The room didn't match the description or photos. The outside of the hotel appeared run down and scruffy and sadly this continued into the hotel and moving through the hotel to our room. The room, despite being a superior, was very small and dark. It was scruffy with spilt drink on the doors and skirting. The tv on the wall was extremely small and the overall feel was that, generally, the hotel was very unloved. I'm not sure if the reviews from the various websites we looked at were current but after our visit, I don't think they were.
Food
The cleanliness was not up to any standards and the fact they charge what they do for that type of accommodation is very unreasonable specially for even trays being taken up to room service was £15 ontop of breakfast & then let us know because we booked on booking.com we could nit use the facilities unless we payed £10 pp and there was 5 of us for a birthday so there is £100 beforw we get to the room or even eat as they ask for a £50 upfront surcharge on checkin like i was very taken back as nothing was inviting luckily we stayed one night but for the money it was very disappointing when the the royal marriett hotel charges less but what impeccable standards all round even minus the pool i would definitely recommend but thr habout hotel I do not recommend to anyone as it standards even upon entering the hotel its very unclean and not kept.
Nice hotel, good location
Air con wasn't working. Was a short stay, so reported it and just used the fan provided.
What should have been great was just an overall disappointment. We arrived for check in at 3pm to be told our room wasn’t ready. We then proceeded to wait in the bar and made use of the free drinks tokens for the delay. 40 minutes later we made our way to our room to find the bathroom hadn’t been cleaned properly (someone’s dirty flannel and body wash left in the shower) and the shower hanging off the wall. When speaking to reception I was avidsed ‘we are very understaffed with housekeeping at the moment so’. This wasn’t my issue and by this point we just wanted somewhere to settle before our evening plans. After lots of back and forth of me being unhappy reception finally moved us to another room after telling us they were fully booked and were unable to - not sure why this wasn’t offered straight away but hey. We were then called and offered free breakfast for the inconvenience, a very kind gesture which we were extremely grateful for. When getting ready for our evening my husband then proceeded to notice the chair had screws hanging out of it where the top had become detached (another problem I couldn’t be bothered to raise at this point). We had a lovely evening out and slept really well and thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast the following day. We were asked if w enjoyed our stay and said yes because all issues had been dealt with (bar the chair which I did not raise). But unfortunately upon leaving the hotel in the following days myself and my husband have noticed we are covered in bites all over our legs. We do not have pets and haven’t stayed anywhere else. I have fed this back to the hotel who are conducting an investigation. With no doubt this will probably come back as ‘negative’ and the blame will probably sit with ourselves as the Manager who is dealing with it explained ‘it has been a couple days since your stay so’. So if you are happy with a hotel which continuously pushes the blame onto its guests for their staffing and cleanliness issues then by all means book this hotel. The harbour hotels we’ve already stayed in have all been amazing and we feel so let down by the way this has all been delt with being problem and problem.
Brilliant location and lovely room
Nothing
Incredible! I didn’t actually want to leave! I was there for a weekend and truly it’s a little slice of luxury in the town centre! Location was superb, staff were lovely, the room was beautiful and the breakfast (I had room service) was impeccable - the spa is £10ph if you book through booking.com but it’s worth it, really cool that it’s in the old bank vaults.
On an exceptionally quiet Easter Saturday evening, my colleague and I had the room - delightfully! - to ourselves, for much of the meal. Which was delicious, your lovely chefs evening uncomplainingly accommodating my request for “half-and-half” of 2 x mains! Exceptional tailoring to the diner’s whim!
Thank you again dear HH; I shall be recommending you to My People.
Paul.
The food was lovely and the rooms were very comfortable and modern.
The spa is superb.
Lots of mirrors but the lighting wasn't great. It's difficult to do makeup. The bathroom mirror has great lighting but is too far to see.
Lovely one night spa break. Room upgrade was a nice surprise. Room spacious, clean, amazing shower. Spa and meal package exceptional value.
Had a very good massage from Martha, very professional and felt wonderful afterwards
Had a wonderful massage by Martha at the Bristol Harbour Hotel.
It was the first massage I had for a while. She was friendly and clear with options and instructions. The massage itself did the job and this particular ne made me wonder why I don’t have more.

Great location & really friendly staff.
Spacious, clean and with excellent food. I didn’t have a chance to enjoy the spa unfortunately as I had no time.
Bedroom window overlooked a wall so dark, but the rest of the property was lovely.
Very clean and modern
Very basic - breakfast is okay not great
Great location, large rooms with a super comfy bed, staff are very friendly and helpful.
Bathroom is a great size with a deep wide tub.
Sadly noise from local bars chucking out bottles into skips means it is noisy around 3am
Amazing spa day including outstanding massage from Martha. Great lunch and lovely facilities.
