Traditional Comfort Boutique Hotel

A modern Hotel with all amenities. The rooftop bar/restaurant area had 360deg views over the rooftops of Kathmandu. The hotel is located 30 mins walk from the Tourist area.

Hotel and room are exceptional . Very clean and tidy . Loved the upstairs balcony and the food options. Great variety of western food but also local Nepali cuisine . Staff are very friendly and provide excellent customer service . Special mention and thanks to Lija for going above and beyond every time. Definitely will recommend to friends and family !

We spent three nights in Kathmandu at the Traditional Comfort Hotel. What a beautiful oasis in a wonderfully crazy city. From the moment we walked through the doors we were looked after with a welcome drink after a long, hot flight to Nepal. We were given great recommendations and nothing was ever too much trouble. We had a delicious breakfast every day in the hotel and also ate there one evening. The curry’s were great and we ate them in the rooftop bar with stunning views of the city. The rooms were comfortable, spacious and perfect for our short stay. We have had a lovely time here. Thank you.

I highly recommend the Traditional Comfort hotel to everyone. The rooms and communal areas were tidy and inviting, but what stood out the most was the friendly and supportive staff. I particularly want to highlight that Anzila at the reception was extremely helpful during my stay with all my inquiries and requirements. I will certainly choose this hotel for my next visit to Kathmandu.

We had a total of 7 nights at the Traditional Comfort Hotel spread over 2 visits within our 15 night holiday in Nepal. All the staff were great but I must especially mention Lijz, who was especially helpful and friendly and a credit to the hotel. 🙂

Overall very good experience. Very quick and detailed oriented service. Thank you for Lija for her quick response. I stayed there two separated times, she still remembered me. And don’t forget to try her coffees. She made very good coffees no matter mocha or cappuccino. And I want to thank you Abishek. He also remembered me I stayed there two times. My request was a bit difficult but he was able to assist me, he is patient and kind. His communication with other departments were very fast as well. Great hotel great staff. Rooms are nice. Temperature in room is perfect. Thank you for the good stay

Quiet designer 'green' hotel that is sparkling clean 24 hours a day. Food and beverages varied, safe and always freshly prepared. Lisa and Anjila personally assisted during the September 2025 Curfew far above and beyond their expected duties.

Liza, Ronish and Anzila were very helpful, attentive and helped me to sort out problems with my phone so I was able to make international phone calls from Nepal. They helped me to cope with the civil unrest in Nepal and gave excellent advice about what to do and what not to do. They spoke English well and provided very good service. It was a pleaser to interact with them.

Had a wonderful stay at this hotel after our G Adventure trip through China and Tibet. Special thanks to Lija who took extra care of us and went over and beyond.

The staff at the front desk Anila and Anmoi was very helpful during my stay organising taxis and room switches without any fuss or confusion.

Every city has a few perfect hotels, where price, amenities, staff, and location all combine into a place you enjoy and feel good about.

Traditional Comfort is one of those.

It's a relatively new hotel (2015 they told me), but traditionally designed. The rooms are large and have character. The common areas are comfortable and inviting, and the rooftop is one of the best in a city where every hotel, bar, and cafe has one.

But the staff is what outs it over the top. Friendly, competent; always someone around when you need them. And like most exceptional hotels, there are standout staff among an otherwise strong crew. Here it's Santosh. Friendly and good at his job, he works in the restaurant and at the rooftop bar, a warm and friendly presence wherever he is.

Clientele was mostly Everest Base Camp groups when I was there's spending a night on their way to or from, but this is a place that'll reward several-night stays as you get to know the city beyond Thamel.

The beds are so comfy. The staff are lovely and know your name and what room you are staying in, the food is good also. My favourite place in the hotel was the rooftop, I spent many of my afternoons there, sitting back with my favourite beer The Gorkha and watching the world below. Location is great too, not a very far stroll into Thamel to do some shopping.

Such a warm friendly hotel! The rooms are so comfortable and the team couldn’t be better, particularly Lija and Santosh who took care of us at breakfast every morning. The location is also quite convenient to most things in Kathmandu and the price point is good.
