Excellent room.
When we arrived we found that we didn't have an air-conditioned room. We had booked this hotel at a higher than budgetted cost due to the availability of aircon, which is explicitly offered on the Booking.com site. When we explained this we were, begrudgingly, given an aircon room at no extra cost.
Poor breakfast, terrible coffee.
Difficulty in paying by Visa. Hotel accounting system not linked to card reader - strange!
the location was very good for us . the reception staff were very helpful . Generally the hotel setting was good .
The restaurant offered a limited level of food, at top prices. The staff were disorganized, inefficient, and seem to spend most of their time shouting to each other across the dinning area
Staff were extremely helpful, felt ill with a stomach upset on arrival and they went out of their way to help with room service and support.
Nothing
Staff were welcoming, helpful and overall excellent
Spa was really very good
Bennetts Bar and Restaurant served very good food
Room was a good size and beds were re-made and towels changed every day
The room was showing signs of wear and tear and needed some refurbishing
Air Conditioning didn’t work in room (but staff happily supplied a fan when we asked)
Clean, well kept and convenient
Nothing really
3rd time staying here. We arrived quite late as had driven down from Scotland. We stayed in room 115. Room looked fairly fresh with a clean carpet and modern shower. We stayed for 2 nights and sadly the people above us were quite noisy and woke us up walking around the room in the middle of the night. When we checked out we did mention this and the receptionist asked if our stay was ok and we did say about the people in the room above and she said we should have reported it to reception! We didn’t even think as it was in the middle of the night and we just wanted sleep!
We had a couples massage at the SPA and this was fantastic!
We ate at Bennett’s restaurant and the food was outstanding as always. We had breakfast before we left and the lady was very friendly and chatty.
Bar staff were inexperienced and not familiar with the bar and drinks. Spa / pool area was boiling hot so not very appealing. Ordered two coffees and croissants room service in the morning and the quality of the coffee tasted of a vending machine coffee and the croissants were really tiny. Was charged over £15 for them, not good.
I had an amazing spa treatment with Chloe Simpson and couldn’t be happier with the experience. From the moment I arrived, Chloe was warm, welcoming, and incredibly professional. She made me feel completely at ease and tailored the treatment to my needs, ensuring I was comfortable throughout. The treatment itself was excellent—relaxing, rejuvenating, and carried out with great care and expertise. I left feeling refreshed and looked after. Thank you, Chloe, for such a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a first-class spa treatment!
The room was excellent and comfortable, the staff in reception and facilities were very good and helpful. The overall feel of the hotel was excellent, very quiet and super clean.
Lovely grounds, location and clean, plenty of parking
The upstairs guest were noisy and could hear them banging but that’s a people issue not a hotel issue
Staff and cleansy
Noise from the room above (Room 123) was extremely disturbing. The people staying there should have experienced the same level of noise in our room to understand how bad it was.
The noise was so loud that it felt as though they were walking inside our room. We are very disappointed. On both Friday and Saturday nights, we did not sleep well because of the constant noise from the occupants above us. The disturbance continued until around 2:00 am each night.
The rooms have virtually no sound insulation at all. We could clearly hear every footstep and movement from the room above.
We would never stay here again.
Nice location, decent room, good restaurant
They have a lot of functions there so we had to deal with lots of screaming children that we're out of control. Not the hotel's fault but annoying.
I didn't like the room as being disabled this was a very inadequate for me
Being a wheelchair user there was no disability access anywhere I couldn't go anywhere on my own as i couldn't get through any doors I found this very overwhelming and sad
