I stayed at this hotel when it first opened nearly 10 years ago, and I was reminded of how convenient this hotel is to downtown and event/venue proximity, the friendliness of the staff (and bartender!) and the quality of the rooms. This hotel is worth the value for the stay!
Nice location and nice rooms
I was not served when I went to the restaurant and I waited for 10 minutes and pressed the bell several times. In the end, I just walked out.
In town for a wedding weekend. Great hotel and wonderful staff, especially Sunny at the Front Desk. Had a little snafu with the Bonvoy app, but Sunny owned it and seamlessly rectified the issue to our satisfaction and with a huge smile! Thank you Sunny.
The Emery AC hotel was overall great minus a couple of issues which I will document so the Hotel can actively fix them. The very best thing before anything else about this Hotel is that it’s located in one of the best parts of downtown Minneapolis and close to the everything: shops, restaurants, parks, the bridge and other activities. The hotel itself is pristine with art deco throughout and style. The adjacent restaurant Giulia was great with an awesome selection of drinks and food including great service. Check-in was very smooth the front staff was friendly and accommodating. My room was great, modern, quiet and had all the amenities one can hope for including a large and comfortable bed. I did not have a view so my recommendation would be to check with the hotel first to see if they can accommodate a view of the city which I failed to ask upon check-in but this was a minor issue considering I was in the city on business with very little time spent in the room. I loved the gym; it was really nice, large with tons of brand new / clean equipment and offered a nice view of the city. The hotel did not offer me any complimentary water bottles (a big miss especially when you’re paying close to $400 per night) but there is a good water fountain at the gym so you can refill your water there.
All in all I will recommend this hotel and it would have received a 5 stars rating if it was not for a couple of issues:
- Minor: My laundry did not automatically come in my room on time and had to call to get it otherwise likely they would have forgotten (adjust your process so the experience can be seamless to guests)
- Medium: Housekeeping did not clean my room thoroughly. The floors were not vacuumed, trash cans were not emptied, old coffee pods not removed and new ones not consistently replaced and bathroom sink and counters not thoroughly wiped (still had coffee stains from the day prior where the bottom of my coffee cup was wet). As usual I try to give an opportunity for the hotel to course correct and if they do typically don’t include anything in my review. I brought up the issue in person to the front desk twice and nothing was done about it. Thankfully the bed was made, towels replaced and the shower was clean but the rest of the cleaning was very sloppy
- At check out the front staff attendant was fairly rude; he did not check me out and asked that I drop my keys and that I would receive my folio by email which I did later but I would have enjoyed a printout right there and at least the basic ‘how was your stay’. He had blue gloves and told me he was busy doing accounting work - he obviously needs some training.
Guest greeter super super friendly
The long wait time to get checked in
Came to town for a concert hotel was clean and in a good location . Went down to the lobby bar for a pre show drink and Todd was an absolute gem. The drinks were top notch as was the service . Would stay here again just for the bartender alone . 5 stars

There was no pool
My wife and I had an excellent three-night stay at the AC Hotel Minneapolis Downtown. What a fantastic location! It's easy to walk to many breweries and restaurants. The room was also very nice with a sitting area and remodeled bathroom. The only drawback is that parking at the adjacent garage is very expensive. Still, we'd absolutely stay here again!
So we decided to make the 7 hour trip to Minni to watch MLB baseball and wanted to stay downtown close to the stadium. We chose AC hotel downtown which is a 6 minute walk to the ballpark. Parking at Hotel was great , rooms are quite nice, lots of restaurants options within walking distance. Our first night we were on floor 2 and it’s a busy floor throughout the night, doors opening and closing so we didn’t sleep too well. In the morning I went down and talked to Sunny at the front desk and she apologized as there was a lot going on with grads and other stuff so she upgraded us to the 9th floor where it was much quieter and the sleep was much better. Thank you Sunny and the rest of the staff
