The only thing I liked about this hotel was its location. It was next to a shopping plaza with a Walmart and several restaurants, which made it convenient to grab food and anything else we needed. Other than that, I did not enjoy my stay and did not like the hotel itself.
The front desk experience was terrible. The clerk was friendly at first, but her attitude changed completely when we reported that the air conditioning in our room wasn't working. We had the A/C running for about three hours, and the room never cooled down. On top of that, the power went out, and the elevator started malfunctioning, which scared my wife.
The staff offered to move us to a room on the ground floor. They showed us the room, we accepted it, and we moved all of our luggage downstairs. Then they suddenly changed their minds, saying they had a policy that required a technician to inspect the original room first. They should have followed that policy before offering us the new room.
After all the back and forth, I asked for a refund because we no longer wanted to stay there. The hotel refused. Booking.com told me to contact Marriott, and Marriott told me to contact Booking.com. Neither company took responsibility, and I was sent in circles. In the end, American Express resolved the issue and refunded my money.
This was a very disappointing experience, and I would not stay at this hotel again.
The hotel was beautiful, the staff was great and the breakfast was delicious and fun.
The only thing we were disappointed in was that there was no refrigerator in the room.
