Great hotel outside galle with good gym and luxury rooms
Pros:

We had the sea view suite on level 5 which was beautiful and we really appreciated Savidu our room attendant who kept us supplied with plenty of Nespresso capsules, water bottles and towels to keep us comfortable whilst also making sure the room was clean and turned down each evening. Ashan and Thilini were also super attentive and any small problems we had were resolved quickly using WhatsApp.

The gym had good equipment though the air conditioning was sometimes poor and some mornings there were no towels.

The pool area was not crowded and it was never a problem getting a sun bed.

The rooftop bar had great views of sunset (but make sure you wear mosquito spray). Sapun made us feel very welcome at our drinks reception there.

Easy taxi or tuktuk ride into Galle and we would recommend doing the food tours (see Viator)

The buffet breakfast and dinner had many options which were fresh and we were able to enjoy the salads without any problem of GI upset. They could be repetitive after a few days however.

Cons:

Although there is a beach outside property it’s worth pointing out that swimming is banned due to the rocks and rough waters.

As mentioned the gym could be too hot and sometimes no towels in the morning.

The buffet was fresh and tasty but could become repetitive.

Excellent in every way!
Pros:

We were met with a warm welcome and cool refreshing towel and drink upon arrival. Check in was quick and staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. All staff were amazing but later in my review I will highlight some above and beyond.

Our room was a sea view suite with balcony, comprised of large lounge with toilet, large bedroom with full 3 piece ensuite. the view was just incredible, the balcony was large, you actually get 2 balconies in this room. I have read reviews that the rooms are a bit tired, and I don’t fall out with this, however what I would like to say is, everyday the room is cleaned to a high standard, our bedding was changed on day 4 of 7 day stay, house keeping ensure you have everything you require and plenty of bottled water, and being a hotel with in the region of 177 rooms, they do a pretty good job at keeping it clean and tidy. I would like to thank Shavindu for ensuring our room was cleaned and maintained to a high standard throughout our stay.

The hotel itself is very big, however, all staff were friendly and took time to chat and ensure your stay was what you wanted it to be. From the poolside staff, grounds/towel staff, service staff - I honestly can’t find fault. They all go above and beyond to make your stay amazing.

The pool area is very nice and relaxing and there is never any problem getting a sun lounger with an umbrella. The beach is beautiful and listening to the ocean was soulful. Wasanthi the recreational manager is just a ray of sunshine! always taking time to speak to guests along with helping her colleges be it at the pool

The roof top bar is stunning! Amazing views and sun sets were mesmerising! One thing I noticed, although the hotel is very big, you never felt crowded, Not at pool, beach, restaurant or bars, you always felt there was plenty of space.

Spektakulärer Meerblick vom Zimmer aus. Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend und herzlich. Vorallem der F&B Manager Uditha

Cons:

Sehr schlechter Zustand der Zimmer und nicht ausreichend Sauberkeit. Preis-Leistung passt in keinster Weise. Hotelpreis und F&B Preise viel zu hoch.

Pros:

Nice room and pool area. Exceptionally nice and accommodating staff. We complained about noisy neighbours and got a new (and upgraded) room without any fuss. Had a 1 year old with us, very child friendly environment!

A very dissapointing experience from Raddison Blu
Pros:

The property was good and the facilities (pool restaurant beach) were great as expected for the price

Cons:

Unfortunately we had an incident where money went missing from our bags during room service. An investigation took place and the hotel did reimburse us but did not take full responsibility and we worry that this may not be an isolated event. We had a few other issues with no pool towels available and drinks not arriving when order. Not what we would have expected from a Raddison Blu. Very disappointing stay

Wir haben uns im Hotel sehr wohlgefühlt – alles war sauber, das Personal unglaublich aufmerksam und herzlich. Besonders schön war, dass immer jemand da war, der nach uns geschaut und sich gekümmert hat. Dabei geht ein besonderer Dank an die Rezeptionistin Thilini, vielen Dank für deine liebe Unterstützung!
Auch das Essen war vielfältig und sehr lecker!

Cons:

Das Einzige, was uns ein wenig gestört hat, war, dass die tägliche Zimmerreinigung manchmal etwas oberflächlich war und t.B. Toilettenpapier oder Handtücher nicht aufgefüllt wurden.
