Reasonable hotel - but hopeless management, poor breakfast and items stolen from the room
Pros:

We had two rooms for 3 nights - a family room on the first floor for my partner and I, plus a private suite on the ground floor for our friend. The family room was spacious with two beds and a couch, though the space could have been better configured to provide a bigger bathroom and/or built-in storage to replace the clothes rail and its limited hangers.

The air con and fan were good and bed comfortable. The room got cleaned and bottled water replaced after the first night only. There wasn't much space or privacy from neighbours when sitting outside on the balcony.

Although next to the dining area, the private suite had its own terrace overlooking the garden, and separated by a wall from the adjoining double rooms. The hotel effectively shut down at 10pm making the terrace quiet and private.

Cons:

The Manager was insincere and not customer-focused. Beware of his antics.

The cleaners helped themselves to 50% of a box of chocolates in our fridge, a birthday gift from my partner. This was reported to the Manager who did nothing and barely even apologised.

We tried breakfast one morning but there was limited choice, food quality was poor and table service was odd.

We were pestered by personal approaches at the Front Desk and around the hotel and daily phone calls from the Manager to eat dinner at the hotel. Irritating. We noted that very few guests ate at the hotel.

I had at least 4 emails during my stay demanding I give a 10/10 review score.

On checkout - and at no time before - the Manager said there was a 2.5% fee for paying by card. This was not the case for any of the 50+ other card transactions during our 17 day stay in Sri Lanka. Thankfully I also had cash. Take note.

Pros:

Hotel exceptionnel à Anuradhapura. Le plus propre du sri lanka, atmosphère locale dans la jungle avec le confort et le service européen. Hyper safe, bonne nourriture. Gestion menée d une main de maître par le gérant. A préférer les suites qui sont dans un bâtiment adjacent mais qui ne donnent pas sur la piscine et le resto. Véritable safari à la tombée de la nuit et au lever du jours avec des oiseaux incroyable dans les arbres. C est effectivement loin du centre ( au moins 5 km) donc chauffeur nécessaire. La piscine est petite , et collée au resto donc j ai pas eu envie de l utiliser car j aime nager

Cons:

Gestion peut être un peu trop stricte donc on sent que les employés sont un peu tendus quand nous on est en vacances ! Mais en même temps c est l excellence en matière de gestion ....

Personnel très attentionné et très professionnel. N'hésitez pas à faire appel à eux pour un tuk-tuk ou un taxi !

Pros:

L'hôtel est très joli ,les jardins sont entretenus avec soin, les chambres très confortables.
Le personnel est très souriant et agréable.
Les petits déjeuners sont très équilibrés avec des fruits frais ,tartines ,oeufs, crêpes ..

Pros:

We stayed for 3 nights at Hotel Heladiv, and had a wonderful time. The rooms are spacious, the bathrooms are modern and clean, and the grounds are pristine. The pool isn't heated; a nice way to cool off during the hottest moments of the day. The hotel staff was very friendly, and adamant on making our stay better. They arranged a guided tour through Anuradhapura, which was great.

Cons:

The location is a bit remote, so you need to have/arrange transportation if you want to go to the city centre (PickMe works best). The access road is rather bumpy, but that is neither the hotel's fault or responsibility. The beds aren't the comfiest, but still okay. There was a small miscommunication between the hotel staff and myself regarding the room, but that was dealt with adequately. Because of the monsoon rains of last year there are lots of mosquitos, so be prepared!

Goed verblijf dat wat verder van het centrum ligt.
Pros:

De rust van de binnentuin was erg fijn. Wij sliepen in een eigen huisje met een veranda waar je gezellig samen kom zitten. Het personeel was vriendelijk en het ontbijt was goed. Zwembad was schoon en zag er goed uit

Cons:

Accommodatie ligt wat verder van het centrum, wel te doen met een tuk tuk (ca 20min). Bed was aan de harde kant.

Fijne en rustige plek
Pros:

Schoon en mooi ingericht. Rustige locatie, wel wat verder weg van het centrum. Aardig personeel en voldoende plek om te spelen voor de kinderen (bij de receptie en het zwembad). Badhanddoeken beschikbaar en een (ietwat overpricede) wasservice.

Cons:

We boekten een superior familiekamer, daar zijn er twee van. Er is één kamer met meer ruimte, die hadden ze aan twee meiden gegeven terwijl wij met een gezin van 4 waren. Een gekke keuze wat ons betreft gezien we hetzelfde hebben betaald.

Manager was soms wat vaag rondom boekingen van tours of vervoer, ligt waarschijnlijk aan de taalbarrière.

Er wordt standaard ontbijt geserveerd maar de prijs wordt pas achteraf bij het afrekenen genoemd (6 dollar per persoon per dag).

Heerlijk
Pros:

Prachtige tuin en resort. Zwembad is heerlijk na een dag tempels bezoeken. Vriendelijk personeel en fantastisch eten.

Cons:

De man bij de receptie sprak zeer slecht engels. Erg lastig om zaken en of activiteiten met hem te regelen.

Super fijn hotel met lief personeel.
Pros:

Een heerlijk kleinschalig hotel waar het personeel je al helpt voordat je zelf een vraag hebt bedacht. Allemaal zo lief en behulpzaam, gezellig ook, in voor een praatje (vinden wij leuk). We hadden twee ruime, schone kamers, een fijn zwembad. Lekker ruim ontbijt en je kan in het hotel ook lunchen en avond eten. Goed eten, goede prijzen.
De manager heeft ons geholpen met een tour naar Anuradhapura en Mihintale, tuk tuks geregeld en vervoer naar ons volgende verblijf in Wilpattu.

Cons:

Eigenlijk niks.
