Ekas Breaks Resort

This resort is a scam. I paid on booking when I booked my trip but when I arrived on site it wasn't ekas breaks resort but ekas boardriders. They made me pay in cash even if I told them I already paid on booking but they told me that ekas breaks resort doesn't exist anymore and it's now ekas boardriders. They didn't try to help me, they just made me pay and told me to see with booking for a pay back. They told me it happens often and that's how people are doing when they book on ekas breaks resort but they have no idea how to do and there is no warning message on the page of ekas breaks resort.

I paid 900 000 x2 for 2 nights, booking didn't reply and ekas breaks resort either.
Ekas breaks resort's phone number doesn't exist and they don't reply by message so it's definitely a scam.

Be aware.

The property is now under new management, meaning that the booking I had paid for was not recognised. I had to make alternative arrangements.

WORST EXPERIENCE IN INDONESIA EVER—RUN, DO NOT STAY HERE!

I have never given a bad review in my life. Usually, I provide a balanced take, but in keeping with the title of this review, I am forced to be brutally honest. This place was awful. RUN! Do not take a chance on this place—literally pick anywhere else. Honestly look at my other reviews and then you should feel i am being very fair here.

We left after 30 minutes. That’s how bad it was. We immediately found another place nearby because there was no way we were spending a night in this nightmare.

The photos online? Lies. The reality? Dark, moldy, and completely neglected. The entire property looked like it had been abandoned for years. The pool—if you could even call it that—was covered in a rotting tarp, filled with mold, debris, and completely unusable. The room? Terrifying. The sheer number of mosquitoes inside was beyond anything I have ever seen—an absolute infestation. And as if that wasn’t enough, the room was filthy, dust-covered, and clearly uncared for.

Management? Completely useless. We were initially "apologized to" and promised a refund. But, of course, that was a lie. The owner became non-communicative, dodging messages for days before finally responding with some nonsense about how they couldn’t process the refund until the next month. That was the last we heard from them—no refund, no further replies, nothing.

I strongly advise you to skip this place entirely. There are plenty of good options in the area—this is not one of them. Stay elsewhere. You’ve been warned.

The pool was green, mouldy and filthy. Grounds unkept. Rooms dull and musty. Unclean bathrooms...mold.

There was no working water for both nights!!! Would like a refund or at least some money back

Sadly the online photos look better than the resort itself. We were very disappointed. No hot water, the front door handle fell off and the sink tap had to be held in place when it was switched on. No restaurant available in the evenings, and it’s a taxi ride into town for dinner. Breakfast was a limited menu, with lots of items not available. The staff tried their best. Swimming pool not inviting at lol, pool umbrellas broken and sun loungers had seen better days. We stayed for 1 of our 4 nights, then found alternate accommodation at Panarama Ekas which was fantastic!

Remote location. Dirty sheets with yellow stains and god know what else. Room was not what shown in the pictures. Staff doesnt speak english. Pool was so dirty we couldnt even use it. One day we couldnt shower or brush our teeth because there was no running water. Food wasnt good. When we tried to speak with management about this problem to avoid putting a review like this, we got no response.

You'll need a bike or scooter because it's a few Ks in either direction to surf breaks and shops. If you're surfing negotiate boat rides at the bay...The grounds are green and lovely,but pool area needs "softening"...a lot of concrete..

The place is still being re done up. The pool was empty, grass was overgrown, bed linen and pillows stained, bathroom dirty, mosquito net had holes in it and the room full of mosquitoes and bugs. Understand I came during wet / low season but I was the only guest, yet my room was not even made up, even when I hung the 'make up my room' sign on the door.

It has the potential to be a nice place, but, sadly not at all in it's current state.

However the bungalows are run down and need some refurbishing. Water was cut off due to a hydronic system failure. These things happen but we were unable to have a shower and flush the toilet. Also breakfast was supposed to start at 7 but no one showed up at the facility until 8. The pool needs a good clean too.

This is not a resort experience so i think it’s overpriced. The photos are outdated due to the fact that the hotel was closed years ago and the maintenance of the place it’s not the same as in the photos. There’s not good internet service and the wifi was not reaching our room.

There is not much to do around the area apart from surfing, which apparently is phenomenal.
