We like the layout of the complex, being able to go to a restaurant that is on site was a huge bonus for us!
The bathroom was a bit dated
Very tasty breakfast, and dinner from the restaurant.
Providing decaf coffee in the room and provide utensils (Knife and fork set)
The reception staff were friendly and helpful, and check-in/check-out was quick and easy. Parking was convenient with plenty of first-come, first-served spaces. The private sauna was simple to book and a nice feature. Since there was no TV in our room, we hired the tablet, which came loaded with Netflix, Prime Video, and Disney+, and the internet radio in the lodge was a nice touch that added to the atmosphere. Also, good location.
While some of the amenities were great, the overall stay was disappointing. The sauna wasn't as relaxing as we'd hoped because there was a noisy gathering nearby during our booking. The room also lacked soundproofing, and we could clearly hear other guests. The heat pump was loud but didn't provide much warmth. Although the lighting created a nice ambience, the curtains didn't have a sheer option to let natural light in while maintaining privacy.
The biggest downside was the bed, which wasn't very comfortable. The pillows and duvet were quite flat, and for me, a comfortable bed is the most important part of any stay. The bathroom also felt dated. The shower temperature was difficult to control and would suddenly become very hot (leading to some temporary burns on my partner's skin), and the extractor fan wasn't working, which had led to mould in one corner (I reported this to reception).
Overall, I was really looking forward to staying here because I liked the wellness concept, but the room simply didn't deliver. Perhaps this was because we booked the most affordable room, but with so many other accommodation options nearby, I don't think I'd stay here again.
Love Sherwood - have returned here many times over the years and every time it is wonderful
Nothing
The restaurant is excellent. The response to our shower not draining was swift.
Beds were hopeless. No TV.
Location
Quirky
Eco friendly
Really warm
Fantastic staff
Great value for money
Nothing
Nice restaurant
Rooms narrow and tight, limited car parks
Location
Underwhelming, more like a camp ground. Broken pot handle, dirty bathroom, very tired and becoming run down. Will not stay again
Location, the restaurant on site had amazing food, staff was amazing and friendly
View
No TV, bed was very low with not much bedding
The breakfast was lovely- not a huge menu and could do with expanding the options. However the daily breakfast package is $40pp for adults and $20pp for children however you could order a main and a drink from the menu for less than the package fee which makes no sense really.
The room servicing was also great, the room was always tidied daily and beds remade.
There were so many strange things about this hotel which in my opinion makes your stay much less enjoyable. Firstly no TV was a huge downside with 2 children and although offered a projector, I have no streaming services to use that with and the internet is so awful that streaming would be an issue.
No microwave either and the 'cooking facilities' were not exactly easy to use- no frying pans made cooking easy meals impossible.
The 2 children's beds were the couch, so no one could sit on the couches and enjoy some down time.
There is ZERO storage in the whole place so all clothing, underwear and shoes were just on top of the table in the lounge room or all over the floor, so again, the table became unusable, there was nowhere in the bathroom for 4 people's bathroom requirements and no where to hang 4 towels - 2 only could be hung. There was also no where to hang your skiing clothes when trying to dry them for the following day and the hotel is advertised as being close to ski fields, a simple hanging rack in the lounge room would have gone a long way to keeping everything off the table and floor.
The kitchen bins were located in the lounge room on the carpet.
Water pressure was non existent in the shower however the shower was very hot, which made up for the pressure issues.
I feel like with some minor alterations this hotel could be very comfortable and enjoyable. Value for money is not something that I feel that I received in this hotel. It was expensive and not worth the money.
Very good. Some inconsistencies on what was included within breakfast each day as advised by different staff
